If you don't see them on the shelf, ask at layby or entertainment counters if there are any out the back

A lot of the big W stores near me keep the big Lego sets displayed behind the layby counter. So many bargains so little cash :-( managed to get:

2 x sea cow @ $220ea

2 x ISD @$100ea

1xATAT @$90

4 x MECantina @$70ea

I had to restrain myself.....

I've got the day off work today, so I headed down to my local Big W in the morning. A day too late really, as I've been quite busy with the day job.

Looks like they have brought in a bunch of new stock. Shelves were full but only a handful of sets heavily marked down. Woman at the store says the dropzone sale has been going for a week now and all of the big ticket clearance stuff is gone.

I just picked up a few 75049s for 35 each, and a discounted Duplo set for a friend's daughter's birthday.

Just came back from the Post Office to send a couple of loads off and ducked by the local stingy Big W (the one that didn't have anything reduced yesterday) and noticed that they had put all their stickers up and changed the prices.

Grabbed 3 Techno Pick-up Trucks for $70ea (RRP $130), had a couple of Spiderman Helicopters for $45 but as much as I love spidey I left them there (probably pick them up for $20 max).

Didn't see Cargo/Sea Cow but may call them in the morning and see

O.K what planet have I been on, I have been in and out of my BIG W store and there was no mention of a sale, I saw nothing of interest. Hell, If there was a Sea Cow I would have seen it from a mile. I  cant believe this. I will call the main office tomorrow to pin point who has one in Melbourne. I hope no one gets in my path, especially now that I am sleep deprived because of the many assignments.

Pretty sure Melbourne Big W's are wiped out, got the missus to go to a few and only thing she found was the arctic truck for $35 :( any leads in Melb ?

I have been to South Yarra, Box Hill, Forest Hill, Southland and Highpoint over the last two and a bit days and didn't find anything except some Star Wars stuff (Snowspeeders, Cantina)

Needless to say some of the finds in other states are making me pretty envious

Mum went back and was able to grab the last Sea Cow (box was smashed and torn) after a bit of humming and haring the lady offered to change the boxes over to a minty fresh one that was on display (empty box). Only downside is the box now has it's seals cut with the lovely BIG W tape (Oh well, I'll build myself if I have to).

Also grabbed another $70 Pickup Truck.

I did ok myself but wow was it hard trying to find stores with stock

2x Sea Cows ($220 each)

1x Mindstorms ($250)

2x Milano Spaceship ($70 each)

8x Light Repair Truck ($9 each)

2x B-Wing ($45 each)

5x Battle for Ninjago City ($90 each)

1x Imperial Star Destroyer ($100)

2x Ultra Agents HQ ($60 each)

9x Tie Interceptor Microfighters ($10 each)

4x Millenium Falcon Microfighters ($10 each)

1x Chima Mammoth ($70)

Could not find Cargo Trains or Benny's SSS anywhere.

Some stores were completely cleaned out of the bigger bargains.

I'm kinda scared to add it all up but the savings were huge.

Amazon UK currently has Bennys Spaceship for about AU$100 shipped. Not as good as Big W price but still very good, they should make you some money come Christmas time.

Great deal if you missed the BigW sale

Ended up being $96.20 aud each (including delivery) if you ordered the maximum of 3.

Hopefully Amazon.co.uk package well and nothing gets damaged in transit.

Anyone had any experience with Amazon.co.uk care to share their experiences?

50/50 chance with damage from Amazon.uk I have found. It's a straight into a bigger box affair with no extra protection. Cargo train was recently delivered and was fine as the outer box was just marginally bigger.

Dropzone still in effect. No new or bigger sets at my local. Picked up some more snowspeeders. They had heaps on Wed, but only a few left there today.

Now need to get some half price AT-ATs for battle of hoth double packs to sell when the ep7 hype reaches fever pitch.
