TheDarkness Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Yeah. I told a mate to buy some but decided not to buy any for myself. I have too much stuff to get rid of as is. Quote
ausleigh Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I picked up some R2-D2 at the Target sale. I love that model. 1 Quote
kandj999 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I picked up some R2-D2 at the Target sale. I love that model. Same here. Are you buying it for personal consumption or for investing? I thought hard about this because I was not sure whether I will be able get my hands on a R2-D2 in Australia with 20% or more readily. Any ideas when the R2-D2 set is retiring? Quote
BrickPick3r Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 i feel it's not so good for investment. There're plenty of them on ebay as well as gumtree. Lots of people hold it for investment purpose. At 20% off, i think it's good if you buy for yourself. That's what i think. Just my thought, don't trust me. I might have some bias toward the set because i don't like star war line Quote
TheDarkness Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 The set is guaranteed money EOL and is rarely seen below retail. Target has it as their exclusive and have struggled with consistent stock. Quote

lego caesar Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 20% off online sale happening at both Myer and David Jones at the moment for today only Dj's has the palace cinema for $179 I think you can use WELCOME and TREATME5 at DJ's checkout for further discount 1 Quote
Lachy Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Just bought Palace Cinema for $159, Emporium for $199 and Pet Shop for $215. Not fantastic but better deals are hard to find for these sets in Australia. Especially the Palace Cinema I have never seen discounted. Quote
stinger-311 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 IF you had used the welcome and treatme5 you could have got the cinema for 145 like me Quote
TheDarkness Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 IF you had used the welcome and treatme5 you could have got the cinema for 145 like me And me! Their stock gets slaughtered when they do these deals. Quote
BrickPick3r Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 Got the VW for around $120. Anyone knows when will the promo end? Quote
Yahveh Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Shopforme have the Unexpected Gathering for $71.99 - 40% off retail. They had Palace Cinema for $139.99 but it sold out within 15 minutes of the sale starting. I clicked add to cart a little too late For those keen to grab Mindstorms, they have that at 30% off too. BrickPick3r Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 BigW also have some set discount. End tomorrow. Quote
lego caesar Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 David Jones have announced a 20% off toys sale http://view.email.davidjones.com.au/?j=fecd15707262067f&m=fe9813707560027f71&ls=fe6515777264057c7c14&l=ff6217717c&s=fe8e1c717267007973&jb=ff961677&ju=fe8e16737d64007a7c&cm_mmc=exacttarget-_-S13-371_Editorial_Ultimate+Gift+Guide-_-107622-_-View+online&r=0 Unfortunately the modular sets are excluded from any discounts but it appears that the discount codes WELCOME and TREATME5 are still working Quote
lego caesar Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Also shop @ home has the new LOTR sets for sale 79011 Dol Guldur Ambush Price $39.99 79012 Mirkwood Quote
stinger-311 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 IF you want the new Hobbit sets locally I would suggest ShopforMe as they have 20 - 25% off the sets already Quote
TheDarkness Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 IF you want the new Hobbit sets locally I would suggest ShopforMe as they have 20 - 25% off the sets already 20-25% off isn't much for these sets. Considering Target was clearing the Hobbit out at 50% earlier, it is easy to sit and wait. Quote
stinger-311 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Some people are impatient and want them now. I can relate I am like that with SW sets. Anything of our retail is good as the larger sets are close to US rrp with 20% off. Quote
TheDarkness Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Considering how often shopforme discount items, it is foolish to jump so early investment wise. Buying for yourself is another matter. Quote
stinger-311 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I assumed he was posting as he was buying. Who would ever pay full retail for buying? and for investing yeah 40% off minimum. Quote
TheDarkness Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Haha 40% off for personal too just about! Quote
