speedsausage Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Dropping $300 at a "friendly" poker game. Then running through my head all the lego set(s) I could've bought with that money. :'( Quote
Ciglione Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) That's the risk of the game... if you would have won $300 you could have bought two Pet Shops for free. Edited March 22, 2015 by Ciglione Quote
speedsausage Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Sigh... I know. It was a rough game. I had my money in good with a couple hands and just couldn't catch a break. Oh well, I've done well there in the past. Quote

My poker buddies, including myself, have all gotten married and had kids over the past few years. It's tough getting the whole gang together to play. We play only once or twice a year now. 1 Quote

Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Brickpicker mobile app Over the weekend, I had guests in town who only go to the casino when out of town so we played blackjack last night. I won some Lego Ex astris, scientia. 2 Quote

KShine Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 So, I was expecting a signature required LEGO shipment this past Saturday - I waited, but the mail never came that day. It turns out that the USPS truck had pretty much exploded, bursting into flames - Tragically, 20 Hulk poly bags did not survive. Quote

I wonder what else didn't survive. Quote
banshee3 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 omfg I hope the driver wasn't hurt. I wasn't aware hulk polybags were such a hot seller. No but seriously I hope they were ok. Quote

Once it started, it spread quickly and he jumped out. Somehow the fire then caused the brakes to fail, so it started rolling down a hill towards someones home - fortunately, he was able to reach in and adjust the steering - so it went into a ditch. I did see a couple photos (I will try to get them) - the damage seemed hard to believe. Quote

Someone should have know better than to make 20 hulks angry. 2 Quote

So no real surprise here - but the seller hasn't responded at all to my messages regarding the destroyed shipment. I assume that they didn't insure the package. Quote

KShine Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 No, I'm not surprised at all. You can always file a case, since you didn't receive anything. Yes, I already have opened a request, which will then become a case, which will then eventually time out. I do feel for the seller though. I know as a seller that I wouldn't be quick to believe it either (yea, the truck blew up). At least in this case, it was a major incident that the USPS can confirm. So while it still sucks for the seller, at least they'll know that it was true and that they weren't scammed. Quote

Alpinemaps Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I was promised photos of the burning truck. Where are my photos? Sorry about the lost package though. That sucks. Quote
exciter1 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 They shipped it 1st class/signature. Well, that's problematic. Quote

Not forgotten - My delivery guy mentioned he would try to print some out for me (we will see). I would have liked to have 20 more Hulk Poly's 1 Quote
KShine Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Well, that's problematic. Yes, a tip for newbies - Using 1st class/signature does not make a lot of sense. Quote
