Has anyone had luck getting Target to price match previous purchases? I found this on their site.

Shop early, shop with confidence this holiday season. Starting October 10, 2021, if you purchase an item in store or online and the price goes lower at Target on or before December 24, 2021, you can request a price match. Proof of purchase is required for price adjustments.

Did the holiday price match a couple of times and it was pretty easy. I did customer chat (or bot chat…really couldn’t be too sure) and they saw the price difference and sent me e-gift cards. Not sure if I could have gotten cash refund but they also rounded up a refund from $8 to $10 so I didn’t complain.

Yes.  I bought several Bird of Paradises @ $79.99.  2 weeks later, it was $69.99.  I just took my receipt, and they adjusted.  Easy Peasy, lemos squeezy.

Same here. Bought a Switch game a week before black friday / CM and had them match it when the sales went live. I think as long as it's in stock they will match the price.

This time of year is when I’ll put about 100 different sets on my local Facebook buy / sell groups, but I have certain criteria I like to use to decide what to list.

I rarely list sets still available in stores, and I try to keep the price points at $100 or less. There aren’t too many people looking to spend face value on highly sought after expensive retired sets on marketplace in my experience. It’s a great place to unload the small to medium sized sets that I acquire during my Walmart clearance runs. Those are perfect for gift giving, St. Nick, or stocking stuffers. I list them below the Amazon and eBay going rates, and a lot of times below retail. I’m still making 50-70% margin on average with no fees, shipping, or return hassles on a cash sale. Yes, you get your occasional weirdo or no show, but don’t take things personally. It’s part of the gig. I’ve developed several local repeat customers over the past few years.

I’ll still list the big stuff too here & there just to draw attention to my other listings, but it has to be retired and out of stores. People don’t take kindly to “scalping” in those groups. Just read the comments in any PS5 listing.

I rarely quick flip on Facebook, although I did just flip my extra Home Alone set for $405 last week. There are always exceptions, but I tread carefully in those scenarios.

The Facebook Marketplace local selling techniques mentioned here by terrymc4677 and others do work and thanks so much for sharing with us.  I was able to sell three big City sets (very large sets to ship) this past weekend alone, two Rocket Assembly & Transport sets and one Downtown Fire Brigade along with multiple Harvester Transport sets (those in particular sold within hours after I posted them).  I think I may keep my last one of those!

It does take patience to get your asking/target price and as I was told, it does help to create multiple listings to generate interest and to let buyers know you are selling many sets.  One buyer bought three sets from me with no negotiations needed.

My tips are to include in a link in your listing to the Lego site (this helps to either let potential buyers know they are getting a good price or the set is retired) and to include/bundle a free item such as a polybag (we all seem to get them as GWPs).

May I have success selling my Batcave Clayface Invasion sets this way too!

This is a great community and I appreciate the selling advice!  It does work!

Kind of miss having K-Mart around with their spin-the-wheel games to earn reward points.  I miss their coupons that may or may not work depending on whatever their website decided on that day.  Their website also had some wonky math calculations that forced me to try different combination of sets to get the coupons to work.  Also miss their end of the year coupons that stacked with bogo offers.  Best thing was their birthday discount/coupon that was good for the whole birthday month, automatically added to cart, and also stacked with whatever offer they had that month 🤑

ETA: Their stores smelled weird but nothing beat their 40% off clearance prices - whatever coupons / rewards you had in your account

Hunting through bins of Hot Wheels to find a Tesla Model Y to "buy" with the monthly "get a free Hot Wheels car" coupon. Then selling it on Amazon for >$10.

My most memorable K-Mart deal was in Florida where I found 12-15 bags of Mixels series 1.  This was 1-2 years after those were retired. I had to pay full price (this was before the app and I had 0 coupon with me), but the profit paid for most of my plane ticket to/from FL. :money:

Nice find. Mine were the $4 K-2SO and Death Trooper constractibles that they suddenly had in stock in large amounts (I believe I picked up 30 of each from one store alone). That was the price before coupons, my actual buy-in was closer to $2.50.

Not to mention that I got $15k in RRP LEGO from them for $2.5k out of pocket. Yes, I am a small-timer.

Yeah those K-2SO and Death Trooper were my final in-store purchases before they closed their stores permanently in my area.  IIRC I got them for $6-ish each but they only had 5-6 on shelves

75120 SW K-2SO Constractible 25 $59.74 $24.99 $2.39 91%
75121 SW Death Trooper Constractible 21 $45.94 $24.99 $2.19 92%

(set no - description - qty - buyin price after tax - RRP before tax - average cost per item - %-off)

Mine was the $10 off $10 coupon and using them on $10.99 battle packs 75034, 75035, 75036.  Used about $0.60 points on each. I stopped ordering at about 300 and none were canceled. I received like 6% back 3Bates  on the $10.99 for each.  I had one garage stall pretty full of boxes and envelopes. The post office even just brought the envelopes in those big USPS totes and just left them on the porch.

They did mix in a few Battle on Saleucami and Battle on Geonosis with the shipments accidentally when they were picking stuff off the shelves.

Curbside pickup on some Bowsers today at WM. My first time doing curbside there. Checked in online and called to check in. Waited 30 minutes, got mad about the long wait and left. Hour later I get an email saying my item has been picked up & my card has been charged. 🤬

Talked to cust service & they are taking care of it. I'll go inside to pick up from now on.

Mine was their famous Get 100% Back in Points deal. I'd come home with bags of envelopes, paper towels, chips, Mac n cheese or whatever else was on sale less the eternal 15 off 75 coupon, then spend the points on Lego which was again discounted and stack it again with more 15/75 coupons. The best was the Get 100% in Points deal on Friends sets. Literally free Lego. I think they actually paid us to take them. I wonder why they went out of business.d4b98d658fa94cd17bfef5a16a486cae.jpg

I loved that one too. I stocked up on SmartSense styrofoam coffee cups with lids, and I still have a few hundred left. The best disposable coffee cups in the business.

Those price stickers were extra hard to remove though.  They needed extra hair dryer time otherwise they will pull part of the LEGO box with them.

I rarely bought daily staples from K-Mart though

I had an opposite thing kinda...I went into Walmart to pickup my online order when they alerted me.  The rep had a hard time finding it...apparently instead of being kept in the organized lockers mine was a bag left on an open shelf on a nearby aisle...its a cell phone so you'd think...  Anyway, fast forward a few days and walmart app is telling me that since I did not pick up the item it will be put back and refunded.

I need to check CC if it actually was refunded.

Taking the cell phone topic and bringing it back to the complaint thread: I need a new Android phone because my old one is dying and half of the apps don't work properly due to its old Android version (I have an LG Stylo 3 Plus from 2015). Did my research and settled on a Samsung Galaxy A32 - because it's the best Samsung out there that allows for microSD storage.

Was waiting on some Amazon GCs to materialize and missed the discounted price of $270 - ended up buying Nov 8 for $280. Estimated delivery date was Dec 6, then became Dec 10, and since that is today, I received the dreaded "Update your order email" where I need to accept it will be delivered later, or can cancel. Of course I am going to continue waiting but there isn't even a delivery date now. Sigh.

had the same thing happen w/ the phones ordered on Amazon for my inlaws...took like an extra month...I ended up ordering directly from Verizon and then the amazon ones showed up...and my inlaws didn't know which one they opened 🙄...so I said at least you just opened the one right?  Nope they had to open both of them even though they are identical phones..they were curious 😨 They live in a different state BTW.

Walmart recently had a $250 deal for the Samsung S20 Fe.  I have this one.  Gotta sign up for 1 year of the Walmart fixed plan, but it's still a great deal for a phone that otherwise cost $600.  Anway deal or not, I highly recommend it (also has Sd); best is the battery which has never sniff <40% in the 6 months I had it.

Massive outbreak of tornadoes last night across the mid-south and Midwest. One even hit an Amazon Warehouse in Illinois. Kentucky got hit the worst, 50+ dead and rising. Sirens didn’t go off or we slept through it. Alexa had all the alerts waiting for me this am.

LG Stylo series had the best valued phones for their prices.  All bells and whistles (including a stylus) for about $150.  I had Stylo 6 that finally became unusable after I dropped it for the 10th time.  I was so sad they stopped making the series.

I switched to Galaxy Note which is 2.5 times as powerful but 5 times as expensive.  I wanted the cheaper phone, but the store did not have too many phones in stock that day.

My 4 complaints in 1 post :P

First world problem. Kind of a complaint, wrapped up in a question. There are several sets on SAH that I have set e-mail alerts to notify me when they come back in stock. My complaint/question is, do member posts on this site stating items are again available hurt my chances of logging on and purchasing these items, or do the posts have any effect on the outcome? I feel they do and I get so ticked that I usually miss out on items again.
