If you care about your friend then you shouldn't post about his deployment schedule anymore and possibly ask a mod here to remove your post. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk 1 Quote

The USS Cole happened because of leaked ship movement info. I can tell from your lack of regard for troop safety that you have never served, and if I am wrong and you have then you should know better.Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk 1 Quote

It's quite possible, and even probable, that many people on this site are doing just that. At the very least, they have in the past. They just aren't vocal about it for a variety of reasons. Not sure where you two are getting your definitions. I've spent many hours on various message boards as both a lurker and poster. This place is as far as it gets from group think. Kind of a hidden gem really. Props to both the mods and members for making that possible. 9 Quote

Sorry that you feel that way. My personal believe as a mod is to the discussions to as many point views as possible, even when I vehemently disagree with the aforementioned point of views. That should entice discussions which is the opposite of an echo chamber, where everyone agrees with just 1 or 2 point of views. 2 hours ago, BricksBrotha said: How about try stroking your ego on someone in person for a change and see how that works out for you. Call me old school, but I found it hard to have meaningful discussions over Zoom calls and/or in person with masks on. In the past, it was much easier to have lively conversations over lunch at work but alas most of us are still under the mandate to work from home. Unfortunately, one of many side effects of isolation is we have more and more people expressing their opinions and frustrations by typing online instead of in person. 2 hours ago, BricksBrotha said: Try doing something for your country in the now, rather than complain about it on a Lego investing website. Thanks for the suggestion. I do not have that broad of platform so I mainly focus on doing something for my local community every chance I get. 2 Quote

Anyone really want to disagree with that? I stand by my statement and the literal English translation of said words. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 1 Quote
Jbad87 Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 To clarify what I said earlier. I didnt mean to say you're not entitled to your opinion on the war because everyone is thanks to the great freedom we get to enjoy. What I meant was telling a guy or gal (prefered pronoun) that may have spent an entire 20 year career deploying, training, sacrificing that it was all for nothing is not okay. I regret that many didnt get to see the positives that came with US forces on the ground. If you do find yourself having that conversation with a service member or veteran wade in cautiously and with respect. I do not communicate in any other forum or social media platform as I'm not fond of the interactions that occur. I argue that bp'ers are the most polite and respectful individuals I've come across on the web for a group of people that upcharge people on kids toys. Recently some serious topics have come up and in general communication has been free and without insult, mostly. 6 Quote

I did my part. I served 12 years, ending my career with Desert Storm. Feel free to list what you have done for your country below. At 60 years old and a disabled vet, I'm done my time. 10 3 1 Quote

redghostx Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 We have custom order furniture being delivered today and we sold the remaining old stuff to make room. The person who came to pick it up last night backed up into a concrete pillar in the parking lot when there were no less than a dozen parking spots available and no cars around. Some people shouldn't be driving.Yay LEGO! 1 Quote

Reminds me of when I was showing a unit to a tenant and they parked their car head first into a parallel parking spot (so, perpendicular to the way it should have been). It was a small car, so it didn't stick out much, but still... 1 4 Quote

LegoWalker4 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 I admit I am one on of the less vocal and less overall posters in this community lately, and there is a valid reason for that besides not wanting to engage in political and religious discussions. On Friday, August 6 of this year I sustained a concussion while attempting to make a catch while playing softball, at least my second concussion. I have no real recollection of my forehead hitting the ground besides what my teammates told me and the mild neck discomfort/pain I immediately experienced. This one is different though because I am not getting better. My diagnosis is post-concussion syndrome since my symptoms have lingered and I am past the traditional bell curve for recovery. For the past month I feel about the same, no worse or better, and I had an appointment with my concussion specialist this past Tuesday. I begin treatment on my neck soon and I go back to the concussion specialist in a month. She did give me medication to take at bedtime to help me sleep and hopefully ease the headaches. I am not experiencing blinding headaches and that is a blessing. Here is my best attempt to describe my symptoms and no one can tell me when I will recover yet. My head fills like when one has a head cold or one’s sinuses are blocked all the time and the headaches are mild, but persistent. I take short rest breaks throughout the workday (busy periods make my symptoms worse), and I take at last one nap after work. This is the fatigue part, and I would like to sleep even more. Occasionally I get lightheaded. My goal is to be there/functional for my family and friends, and to take walks every day. Getting back on my mountain bike and playing sports again is not nearly as important and seems inconsequential at this point. I share my story, not for sympathy, empathy, etc. but for awareness for others. Physical injuries are hard enough. Mental/brain injuries may be even harder. I am not comparing one to other. We all have all crosses to bear as it were. I appreciate the many members who have shared their stories too, like ravenb99 and Phil B. My worst episode was counting and sorting Lego pieces about two weeks ago for the Lego Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon I bought off eBay. I began feeling very dizzy and nauseous, my wife helped me finished and I was better after lying down for two hours. 2 10 Quote

I was dumb and outran a runner when I was playing first base a few years ago. I didn't touch the inside of the bag, I tried to run through the bag and we both collided at full steam. I had a concussion for a couple weeks, but had a full recovery. I also had a softball size bruise on my thigh I was worried that might cause a blood clot. Listen to your doctors and I hope therapy helps you get back to feeling like yourself. 1 1 Quote
