Doesn't that agree completely with "Global Climate Change"?

Not really as it has been 11 years since our last really hot summer.  In 2010, Alabama had 50+ consecutive days of 100+ degree days.  And actually, using high temperature to measure climate change is like using a stick to measure miles.  High temperature is a measure of weather, not climate.  Average temperature is a tool of measuring climate.  For all the complaints about high temps there have been some all-time lows in the last few years as well.

This graph shows the average trend since 1900.  Less than 2 degrees in 120 years.  Humans can adapt at that rate.  Polar caps melting may change the geography slightly but it will be negligible in an average lifetime.  Don't get me wrong, if we could reverse it, we should.  However, the US disrupting everyone's life in an attempt ain't worth spit since neither China nor India, which are a lot worse than we are and show no signs of changing, won't play along, no matter what accords they sign.

George Carlin stated it well.  How arrogant of man to think that we can change things.  We aren't going to destroy the Earth.  She isn't going anywhere.  Man will be going.  if we fail to adapt and evolve.

Unfortunately it will not just be humans going. It seems pretty terrible of us to destroy the worlds ecosystem and likely most of its biodiversity so we can not disrupt our lives. What about all the animals whose lives will be not only disrupted but destroyed. And yes a few degrees sounds minimal but that’s all it takes to melt all the ice, stop all the oceans currents, etc. It’s a long ways off but everyone here realizes I hope that polar ice caps melting is not a slight geography shift it’s 230 feet sea rise. Pretty sure that puts all of Alabama, Texas, Florida, ... completely underwater.

The problem is how overtly political weather has become. My wife wanted to watch Twister the other night.  A dumb but entertaining movie. I commented that if made today Twister would be less fun because it would involve characters espousing climate change beliefs left and right instead of gawking at flying cows.

I went to the local Comic Con and it was HOT.

Then I went to WaWa and you have to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status (not getting into the Covid thing) they are not taking cash unless you have exact change and they no longer provide bags they are $0.25.

Come home to eat and watch an episode of Sunny and find out Hulu has removed episodes that may be too offensive? Every episode is too offensive that is part of the show if you don’t like it don’t watch.

But all is good now in my world my Lego order finally arrived 2 weeks later so I am going to put on some tunes and get building.

That was a What did you do today, multi-complaint/Covid, Flicks/Pics and TV Clicks, my order status, and what set did you build today post all in 1

Building the castle now with the kids. Looks great in person.

Are you going to try and build the bigger version using two sets? We’ve been thinking about it. Or more likely building the tower to go along with it.

I am going to see how it goes but possibly will do all 3 builds and the combo. Also like the 2 set MOC someone posted.

As long as the conversations are kept in the Non LEGO forum, there is nothing wrong with discussing global events.  The BP-ers have been good at keeping those comments out of LEGO related threads.

And very mature and professional on both sides of several issues.  Very impressed with the bper community.  It's refreshing.

I agree 100%. For the most part the people on here are able to engage in overall nuanced conversation without retorting to nastiness. It has largely become a place where I can make a statement without everyone losing their mind, and I hope that it stays this way. This community is almost less about Lego for me now than it ever was (don't get me wrong, I still am a huge fan).

In case you'd like to purchase a 501st clone trooper army, Amazon has a great price on them.  Great reviews too!!  Note, these are non-licensed, LEGO knock-offs with a current Toys and Games ranking at 8000 and are number 16 in Building and Construction toys.  But I can't list 31084 (Pirate Roller Coaster) for higher than $188.98 because it's against Amazon's fair pricing policy.

Edit:  Just took a deeper look and 7 of the top 50 selling Building and Construction sets are LEGO knockoffs.  Grand.

Oh I am sure there are a lot of Gentlemen and couples who are also going to have to find a side gig. I do wonder how much some of those performers make. Maybe it was the "God told me to Strip on OnlyFans" that sealed the deal.

more than likely another app will fill the vacuum left by Onlyfans...that is the way things seems to work nowadays...there is always a "lesser" hungrier next company to scavenge anything remotely profitable/popular

I never understood people paying for something that can be easily accessed for free on internet.  (Probably why I am not a millionaire :D )

I heard about this a couple months into the year. Depending on how strict they (OnlyFans) become, this primarily limits straight up pornography in favor more of some naughty nudes. Still an amusingly poor choice for a website whose popularity mainly grew not to mention capitalized from "not safe for work" content to suddenly try and clean itself up especially now of everything. Their reputation is already set. No amount of washing is getting those toes squeaky clean.

I remember the "Tumblr Purge" from a few years ago Redcell alluded to where Tumblr outright banned everything considered lewd. (Doesn't help their bots were going overboard to begin with.) One part to make the site more palpable for the then influx of new young members. (Even though there is or was a mature content filter setting in the profile page.)

And second there "allegedly" was a high amount of under-aged sexual related content across the board although no proof was ever brought forward to support this claim. The website had become quite large so chances of probability would support that kind of content to have been uploaded somewhere. However anything considered as pedophilia typically gets dealt with swiftly between the users or the company.

Last thing I heard Tumblr has backed away their strictness and eased off the slack a bit. Despite that no surprise people have not really cared to flock back even for but a moment to Tumblr and instead stick with their migration to Twitter.

So what is a "sex worker"?

An adult who performs or provides consensual sexual activity for money or goods. Sex worker is the more preferred term over prostitute or porn star. To clarify it is not sex trafficking.

Effective 1 October, 2021, OnlyFans will prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually-explicit conduct. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines. Creators will continue to be allowed to post content containing nudity as long as it is consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy.

These changes are to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers.

We will be sharing more details in the coming days and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines.

We remain dedicated to our community of 130 million users and over 2 million creators that have earned over $5 billion on our platform.

OnlyFans remains committed to the highest levels of safety and content moderation of any social platform. All creators are verified prior to being able to upload any content to OnlyFans, and all uploaded content is checked by automated systems and human moderators.

As part of our commitment to safety and transparency, we are releasing our first Monthly Transparency Report for July 2021.

In short, we can blame Mastercard and Visa for being a bunch of p*****s.
