That they unlocked the Covid-19 thread. I give it until sundown tomorrow ;)

The bad thing is, I stopped reading anything longer than one-sentence posts a long time ago. Somebody said it needed a thread and it jumped out at me.

Its been a while since we had some German anti-Lego rants from good ol' @Frank Brickowski too. That said, I do wonder how some of our other European friends are fairing. @Val-E has been Awol over a year now.

Unfortunately, I believe Eric, @Val-Eaka Valencia is no longer with us. Perhaps instead of a Brickfolio we need some type of obituary API as members here age.

As in passed away or left the site ?

Passed away because he could never leave this site no matter how hard he tried. He did leave and came back in attempt to reinvent himself as @Val-Ebut he just had to be him. I figured if he came back as another new account I would pickup on his dynamic persona.

Hopefully it was quick and painless and his loved ones are all well, but it would be interesting to know if it was Covid because Spain had a surge the same time he disappeared. We could rename the Covid thread after him.

All great lines get attributed to the following ppl at some point in time :)

- Einstein

- Franklin

- Churchill

I don't know.  I enjoy the wisdom of Doug Stanhope more than most of those listed..

Global climate change is real, feel it and believe.

Lordy, we are going to need a new thread soon for this. If we have fighting over ways to slow down a virus that is clearly killing people... imagine when we argue that humans burning fossil fuels for hundreds of years have had a significant impact on rapidly increasing climate change.

July 2021 was the hottest month in recorded human history. We have politicians that do nothing but give deadline extensions at best, and scientists that are largely ignored for decades. Who could have seen this coming?

The interesting thing about CO2 in the atmosphere is that without any we are unlivable ice aged and with to much we all boil from within. The atmosphere is amazing actually goes from super cold then to super hot 1000’s of degrees variance. Our planet is very special, how unlucky it is to have us as stewards.

eBay managed payments does not show a balance value after each line item transaction, and takes refunds from available funds instead of processing which is where the initial payment being refunded money is located. I’m not a banker but it seems illegal to not show people their actual balance after each transaction. Can you imagine a bank account that only shows transactions but no balance after each transaction. I feel eBay with their ever increasing fees and monopoly on junk auctioning is ripe for a lower fee competitor.

Maybe in your local.  We are only hitting low to mid 90's here in Alabama.  Many summers, we have weeks at 100+.  And always 100% humidity.  I was a motorcycle test rider for 16 years.  I can remember a few summers in which it was so hot that we had to carry round plates to put under our jiffy stand (kickstands) because, if you didn't, the stand would sink into any asphalt and drop the bike.  I used to do heat testing and have often heard fuel percolate in the tank (at about 380 degrees.).  A V-Twin can easily get above 400 degrees when it is sitting still during a 100 degree day.  All between my legs.
