It's definitely the mobile app.  There's no easy way to edit out the pics, because they only show up as html in the quote.

Hitting quote on the mobile app just so you can see the frigging post and then accidentally hitting reply

Me: "Have you shipped my Lego? If so would you provide the tracking number."

Seller: "I have not been able to ship the package yet. Part of the issue is that PayPal will not release the funds from the sale and I don't have the money out of pocket to ship the package at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will call PayPal again to see if they will release a portion of the funds."

Me:

Seller: "I contacted PayPal and eBay and they were unwilling to release a portion of the funds to ship the Legos. I apologize. Your options are to either wait until the 28th of April when the funds will be released to me and I will ship them the fastest way possible via USPS or to request a refund."

At least he seems nice. Not sure of what to do. Any thoughts?

Member since '05 who bio says he's a college student majoring in Aviation Technology (Maintenance Management). 130 feedback with 2 positives in the last year. He left 2 positives as well in the last month as a seller. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt I think.

I have very little patience for that level of unprofessionalism.

What part of that response is unprofessional?

It is another issue entirely if it is well outside the shipping window but this seems like an honest situation.

Sellers that act in a professional manner don't have to wait on PayPal to release funds in order to ship an item. I get being broke, trust me I've been there, but the situation described is unacceptable.

Its like when a contractor needs your payment up front to buy materials to finish the job they are currently working on. Doesnt give me a lot of faith in their business model. And if they are an established seller why would paypal be holding the funds?

The contractor analogy doesn't really hold. For some jobs the materials required are a significant chunk of the total project cost (think an addition). A smaller contractor might not have the funds to fork out $30k in supplies on a $50k job, especially if (s)he's going to get paid only upon completion. We're talking shipping fees here, which are either tiny (e.g. <$10) or at least less than 10% of the cost of the set. And if the seller ships correctly (i.e. follows Ebay/Paypal's procedures and ships to verified address), it is not like there is much risk that they won't get their funds.

Right, but in either case it doesnt give me a "warm fuzzy" feeling about my job or product that I bought.

I figured that I misunderstood the context of your original post and it makes sense now. :)

Good contractors should have accounts that usually have X number of days to pay with major suppliers. That way they can buy the material they need, do the work, get paid, rinse repeat for longer jobs.

My complaint is rain when you're on holidays and trying to visit something that is outdoors. Seriously, as if kids need an extra way to get dirty!!

Two days ago I sent him some links on Ebay/Paypal threads on how to go about shipping an item using held funds. No response to 2 separate messages had me ready to file a claim today. Well, I just got shipping email. It'll be a nice little lot for a good price if it's as advertised.
