Amen. I have the same frustration right now with my 'obo' fruitcake - not a peep after the initial message yesterday. See the fruitcake thread for the details on that one.

Yeah, I read your post and I feel your pain. I figure after some time has passed it's best to forget about it and move on. I usually delete the email or text and forget about it. There will always be someone else hitting me up later.

When I do CL sales, I almost always have them meet me within a couple of miles of my hosue.  I tell them to call me when they're there.  I used to have them meet me somewhere that I had to go regardless in case they didn't show up.  Now I just leave the house when they say they're there.  I'd rather make them wait 3 min for me to get there than sit for 30 min or an hour because they're stuck in traffic, lost, or don't even show up.  If they aren't OK with waiting on me for 3-5  min, I thank them for their interest and move on.

When I meet with someone its usually a mile from my house. I've only been burned once. Considering I've done a decent amount of selling through CL I'm surprised it hasn't happened more. I think most people are respectful and considerate, but there are always those few bad apples.

Just had the same issue from a buying perspective. A guy had a bunch of sets listed, some with pretty great prices. I sent an inquiry, stating that I was interested in potentially buying over a thousand dollars worth of sets. The guy responded almost immediately saying his list was out of date and I should just go by what's in the photos. I wrote back saying that I was still interested in about $600 or so worth of sets he still had available - that was 3 days ago and I haven't heard back. Who goes through the effort of posting all of that & then ignores potential buyers? I hadn't even low balled him yet! :)

Exactly. That doesn't make sense. If someone was hitting me up about buying $1000 worth of sets I would set up a meeting immediately.

Never bought from Raise and have never had a gift card from anywhere else not work. First order from raise of 3 gift cards and none work. That will be last order from Raise.

Funny, I was just looking at Raise.com for the first time today and was thinking, why not save at least 5% on stuff I already buy? Has anyone else had issues with gc's purchased from Raise.com?

Yes, I've had some issues. Here is an example. I purchased some Starbucks GCs from them, then loaded them onto my iPhone a few days later, they showed a $0 balance, although I never used them. I called Starbucks to inquire, and they said they were suspended due to fraud. This is probably a pitfall of any GC reseller, not specific to Raise. I called Raise support. To their credit, they verified what starbucks mentioned about the fraud. They immediately issued me new cards with the proper balance. No big deal, they absolutely did the right thing. But, know that this sort of thing can happen. My suggestion if you are using any service, is to plan on spending the gift card right away. If a problem arises, I'm sure it's MUCH more difficult to un-sort months down the line.

Some beautiful soul out there thought hey I'm gonna buy a MF and use my 5 year old 2011 LEGO bags and reseal some Megabloks, Tyco, and Cobi blocks (doing a piss poor job at that I may add) and send this back to Target instead.  Why pay for something when you can be this much of a low life and return it.    I mean it does require hard to work to be able to buy your kid or yourself something nice.  Why bother with that hard work when there are alternatives such as this...

And yes that is the Salvage tag that was removed from the middle of the box.  You know the one someone said they "must destroy" to keep brand integrity up.

Seen many switch outs in my business this one just was one of the more flagrant ones on a LEGO item.

Similar thinking here, hey, I can buy gift cards %5 off, plus some coupon plus this and that..... I can stack those savings.... I've heard enough about raise.com here and I will not be using that web site.

I liked your share not the fact that this happened...

The biggest risk is not running into an empty or blocked GC and having to go back to Raise to get refunded ... the biggest risk is the actual retailer you are using the GC at _BANNING_ you from their site (for life?) because the GC was bought with a stolen CC. If you read back on the forums here you'll hear several of those stories. Not touching Raise with a million foot pole.

Did you buy this and then discovered the insides? Sounds like a tricky conversation to have with CS .... trying to prove it wasn't you who did the switcheroo.

This is bought as part of a full trailer load, was just posting to show what some people do in this world.    This product is mine and there is no recourse on it , its not much money just the fact people do this stuff.  It is a small percentage as well looking at the big picture but still pretty ridiculous.

Just made a sale to Russia. Go to print out first class postage on usps.com...NOPE, not allowed anymore, postage must be bought at post office. Okayyy...so let's at least do the customs form online! Fill out the first page, hit next, first page reloads blank. Huh. Try different browser. Same problem. Huh.

Guess what I'm doing now?!

Manually filling out an old-school paper CN 22 customs declaration form. UNBELIEVABLE. Is it really 2016?!

After shipping hundreds of boxes over the past few months, I am actually going to have to wait in a line at the post office.

At least they were nice enough to seal up the bags for you.

I think I'm finally giving up. For months, I had been thinking it's gonna get better. I kept telling myself, hang in there. It's absolutely gotta get better. Somedays, I think it just can't get any worse. So I say to myself, you've waited this long now. Just hang in there a little bit longer. But I'm still thinking it's hopeless. I don't think I'm ever gonna be able to enjoy watching The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The guy that follows him is way worse though...

The only guy I ever miss on Late Nights is Craig Ferguson

Looking forward to his new show on History channel:

I have bought Gift Cards for people, and have received them (from Raise.com). They all have worked fine so far (haven't used one of them yet)! No issues! Great way to save money.

So I sold a NIB lot of 9470 Shelob Attacks, 9471 Uruk - Hai Army, 9472 Attack on Weathertop to a guy in California on Jan 17th. Mailed it out the 18th. It arrived in California Bell Gardens sort center on the 23rd. Then is says on the 26th it arrived in ALBUQUERQUE, NM. Now today it says arrived at the  PO in Denver, CO. WTF? I foresee trouble ahead.
