stephen_rockefeller
I've decided that people who aren't disciplined enough to keep complete sets complete probably aren't the cleanest people in the world. Bulk lego screams to me "laziness".

It's meant to be played with, the point is not maintaining the resale value. So i sit on the exact opposite side of the fence on this one.

I mean when kids do that, yeah kids. Thats hilarious that auto correct came up with TRU. Edited January 12, 2016 by Migration

No he isn't. Who are you to say what people should do with their sets? The glut of new people coming in like they know everything lately is getting old. That's my complaint. I guess you are suggesting that I am stunting my kids creative growth. I can maybe see where you are coming from except for the fact that my son has creative towers and boxes that he is free to build what he wants with. He is however NOT allowed to mix them together. Along these same lines, I feel like the posts on a lot of BP threads have been insanely chatty since Christmas. I'm not trying to call out and insult new people to the site, so please take the with a grain of salt. Besides my 'welcome to the site post', I feel like I read through pages and pages of forum posts for weeks, before making my first post to this site. And I certainly never made un-researched requests for people to spoon feed me sets that I should be buying. In short, my complaint is people with 30+ posts on accounts that are a mere 36 hours old. I'm not trying to say that these people don't have things to contribute, but I question the quality of some posts lately. I love the site, but I would hate to see it turn into a reddit style rapid fire commenting board.

Alpinemaps
Let's see, tonight's complaints: Receiving my daughter's report card and not necessarily agreeing with it. She's in second grade, but we just haven't been in sync with her teacher all year long. Feels like some of things she was marked down on for her report card aren't consistent with the feedback we've gotten from this teacher all semester. Unfortunately, this teacher is probably the most liked teacher at my daughter's school. Waiting for 6 weeks on a Bricklink order. Even though the seller warned that they are slow, this is *really* slow. Seller has over 5K in feedback. Doing a little research tonight, and discover others that ordered at the same time I have haven't received their orders. A whole slew of negative feedback just got piled on this seller (that wasn't there when I bought from them). Looks like others are only getting a response because they're filing Paypal claims. On the flip side, I can't complain too much - my daughter got a clean bill of health at the dentist today, and that's really a big positive. And the kitten that got neutered on Monday seems to be recovering just fine.

We've been interpreting such mediocre marks as the teacher making a statement that our kid can achieve even more. You might want to consider that as a possibility!
biking_tiger
Dear other seller of set X: Mine is the next closest price via Amazon prime. You do not need to beat my $79 price by $19 to make a sale. You are welcome for the advice.

biking_tiger
Pretty much just venting... and not understanding the logic of some sellers. But newbie's numbers look awfully suspicious.
thoroakenfelder
Took my wife and kids to a movie today. Between tickets and concessions I was more than $80out of pocket. On the way out of the auditorium, an employee was holding the door. As my wife and 3 year old were passing through the door, I distinctly heard "would you be offended if I slammed this in your face?" I was surprised and the toad scampered away before I had collected my thoughts to address him. I went to find someone who claimed to be a manager. I told her about it and she almost laughed it off claiming that he was special needs and that she'd talk to him, but he's just like that. No attempt made to offer me passes or anything, just her scampering off as soon as she mouthed her platitudes. For a location that seems to be doing terrible business, I was surprised that she gave very little respect to a paying customer.

Call me a cheapskate, but this is why I buy movies on DVD/BluRay instead of the whole "going out experience". I can watch the movie at my leisure (even pause it when I need to), can deal with scary scenes for the kids appropriately, can watch a movie several times, and often find the "must have" movies for next to nothing used on Amazon/Ebay. Plus, nowadays the DVD/BluRay release is just 2-3 months after theatrical release, so I don't even have to wait long if there is a new movie I'd really like to see. (Yes, TFA has been preordered on Amazon 2 weeks ago ).
wsuskee
I thought I was getting a great deal on 2 Mystery Machines as it was stated at the bottom of the page that I would receive $31 back in points. The $31 didnt make much sense as I had a $10 back in points coupon and the $1 in points for picking slower shipping but I wasnt going to argue. Normally my points are credited within an hour but now over 24 hours later and still nothing. I know points can take longer sometimes to be credited but my order show no points earned on this order and it has been processed. I started with chat which then gave me a number to call the rewards program which then transferred me to a managed in the same department. He couldnt figure out what went wrong so they gave me a number to call and contact tech. Tech told me that they offered a $20 back in points on a $20 purchase and that many accounts got to use that more than once even though it was only for single use. So some orders will have a delay on points even though I only used the offer once. After an hour on the phone and being on hold they told me they would call me back when the points have been added. I dont ever extra to be called back. Just figured I would give you a heads up if you purchased online from Kmart in the last day or so. legodelorean
I hate when people hit you up via CL asking about an item posted and then you respond and then you never hear from them again. It's like, why even bother if you really aren't interested? It gets me excited because I think I'm going to make a sale and then I'm left hanging. I'll even send a follow-up email just to remind the person about the item and I still don't get a response. It's just irritating. If you contact me and then aren't interested, at least respond to the follow-up email and tell me you aren't interested. Freaking CL, man. Rant over.

Just had the same issue from a buying perspective. A guy had a bunch of sets listed, some with pretty great prices. I sent an inquiry, stating that I was interested in potentially buying over a thousand dollars worth of sets. The guy responded almost immediately saying his list was out of date and I should just go by what's in the photos. I wrote back saying that I was still interested in about $600 or so worth of sets he still had available - that was 3 days ago and I haven't heard back. Who goes through the effort of posting all of that & then ignores potential buyers? I hadn't even low balled him yet!
Loghamel
When I do CL sales, I almost always have them meet me within a couple of miles of my hosue. I tell them to call me when they're there. I used to have them meet me somewhere that I had to go regardless in case they didn't show up. Now I just leave the house when they say they're there. I'd rather make them wait 3 min for me to get there than sit for 30 min or an hour because they're stuck in traffic, lost, or don't even show up. If they aren't OK with waiting on me for 3-5 min, I thank them for their interest and move on.
