Ed Mack
Surprised at your thoughts on the ceiling for this set given the heights the VW beetle has hit. I would peg it at a $3-400 set eventually. As DNIIM stated, different time and place for the Beetle. I think there are a lot less Beetles floating around than Campers. roxio
I'm also waiting for 3xVIP and have a friend who is a JL retiree with a discount card. I've also got a pre-release Mini Cooper on the way! Has the UK had 3xVIP before?

I think it is a question of how long it takes to hit that $400 mark. I was just hypothesizing that most investors (me included) would probably be tempted to start selling in the mid-$200s to free up capital for other sets, and with supply probably being quite a bit higher than the Beetle (at least initially and for the first couple years EOL) I see the march to $3-400 taking a longer time post-EOL. asharerin
10220 will most likely overlap the Mini Cooper for quite some time as it is a very good seller for TLG. When it does retire it will do well. Nothing like the Beetle as those days are long gone.
Ciglione
What I've heard is that the VW T1 Camper is doing extremely well in Asia. Lego is investing strongly in Asia. My theory is that the Camper could be EOL in Europe and US soon... but will still be sold in Asia for a while.

Alpinemaps
I finally bought my first T1 this morning. After being MIA at Legoland California for the last 6 weeks they were back on the shelf. So I picked one up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Brickpicker mobile app

Even if they want to go into 2015, I think there is a solid chance this goes OOS during Oct-Nov promotions.
Guest TabbyBoy
A lot seem to be wary of the Camper's future performance but, look how well the Beetle did and that was just as freely available back then. I bought 44 just before EOL without question. IMHO... The Camper is a much better model than the lumpy/studdyBeetle. However, it's those 44 Beetles that got me started in all this. Very well could be Veegs, and it's a good point. Last year, I thought the Beetle was maxed out, but an MISB version has increased nearly $100 over the last year, four years after EOL. I think we'll see something similar here, perhaps with an even a longer duration. I just think a lot of AFOLs are going to want this once it's retired, just like a lot of AFOLs want(ed) the Beetle. Supply will be a near term (1-2 years after EOL) issue, but not one to cap the set's growth at $100 over MSRP in the mid-term (3-4 years). Just my $.02. It may tank too... weakside
Greater chance of me flipping a couple of these this X-mas if the Camper is indeed SOLD OUT/Retired before summer is over. Hold a couple long term.

Hey Alpine, a slightly off-topic, our family will be heading to Legoland California next week, so my question is do they restrict on how many sets each person can buy? I used my 15% off TRU gift cards last week from ebay to order two more T1s yesterday am and they already shipped as of last night. Has anyone gotten their sets in original Lego cases from TRU before? Planning to get some T1s while they're at MSRP, hopefully I can get them in a case.

Alpinemaps
Hey Alpine, a slightly off-topic, our family will be heading to Legoland California next week, so my question is do they restrict on how many sets each person can buy? Generally, no. I've only seen it a couple of times. When the Kingdoms Chess set was down to the last few in the park is past Feburary, they were limiting it to 2 per customer. Also, when Ecto-1 first came out, they limited it to 2 per customer. Otherwise, I've never seen a limit. I know when they had the SSD a few weeks ago, another Brickpicker picked up three or four of me, and they didn't blink. They had the Simpsons minifigs out a few days early. I bought 2 cases without issue. Have fun!
