US RRP = USD 50

That's about 20% off. Not drop dead enticing, but I like Taun-tauns, so I'd pick up one or two.

 

It is a good price for the set. I would take 20% below U.S. retail price any day. For a licensed theme anyway, they tend to be more expensive in Europe.

 

What it comes down to though, is how much you think this set will rise in value. Let's take a look at same earlier Lego sets based on the Hoth scenes:

 

7666 Hoth Rebel Base was a 548 pieces set released in 2007 and has grown very nicely from $50 U.S. retail price to a current value of $148,50.

 

8089 Hoth Wampa Cave, though,  was a 297 pieces set released in 2010 for a retail price of $40 and has hardly grown. Current value is $44,30.The European current value (
