comicblast Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 About time! Leg Godt is reporting that LEGO will be soon selling some watches suitable for adults, and quite frankly, older kids. They will be available this November. They are quite pricey though... Not sure I'd get one because of that steep price tag. LOL. Quote from the Leg Godt article: Lego has had a line of watches for a few years now, but the designs were decidedly targeted at kids. And since the building toy probably has as many adult fans as children who love it, Lego will be releasing a new line of watches this November with designs geared more towards its grown-up fans. That being said, no one is going to mistake any of the styles in the new line as being a Rolex or a TAG Heuer. Bright colorful plastics still dominate the motif for these new timepieces, which will come in both analog and digital designs. Officially referred to as the Lego Watch System, the new adult designs will share a common trait with the previous kids' models in that the links that make up the watches' straps can be disassembled and mix and matched between designs. So if the new additions aren't already colorful enough, you can buy a couple of them Quote

TheOrcKing Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 $85 to $185?! Uh, I don't need to tell time that badly. Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 You mean ***-Shock? Ja, whatever they are called. Ugh... it's not even Monday... Quote

cvail8 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 They already have adult Lego watches... and they cost a whole lot less than $85. http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/LEGO-Star-Wars-Han-Solo-Adult-Watch/6382348/product.html?cid=202290&kid=9553000357392&track=pspla&ef_id=UMkt4QAAFGF6UC@Q:20131002234025:s Quote

LOL. I can't say I would wear that "Adult" watch! Looks like it is pretty cheaply made. Quote
cvail8 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I think the point of watches is to wear it too though... LOL. I can't say I would wear that "Adult" watch, not even 5 years ago I wouldn't! Looks like it is pretty cheaply made. Well, I'm an "adult", and I've worn mine every day for the last year and a half. Quote

I guess they are a step up though. Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Well, I'm an "adult", and I've worn mine every day for the last year and a half. Respect! I would be way to scared to wear one of those in public lol. Good on you! Quote
justafrog Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 If there was any chance I'd ever wear a watch, I'd get one. Since there's no such chance, not much point. :-) Quote
cvail8 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 If those are plastic, they aren't worth the $85. I've gone through every extra link I have on my Boba Fett adult one, because the plastic eventually gives up. Now if they were metal, I could totally see spending that kind of money. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 That all white watch is supercool. That's probably the $185 model, of course. Anyway I haven't worn a watch in 10 years. Don't know of I could be convinced to start now. Still, those are stylish. Quote
terrymc4677 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Those are pretty cool, but does anyone even still wear watches anymore? I stopped wearing one years ago when my cell phone became my watch. I haven't really noticed if others still wear them. Quote

Coneil21 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I'm getting like 7 of them to mix and match! Quote

Coneil21 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 ..So I'm a nobody? and by "nobody" I meant nobody thats not retro chic cool! Quote
vincevaughn Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 As someone who loves collecting watches, the prices are very cheap. Especially if the internals are made by a respectable watch company. But it will all depend....I am at least interested in the white one...classy but still fun :) Quote
Bsusanka Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 The movement is a Japanese quartz movements. Nothing to get excited about but very dependable. Quote
comicblast Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 and by "nobody" I meant nobody thats not retro chic cool! LOL, nice save. My favorite list (which basically includes all 4 watches that we know about so far. LOL): White one Black Yellow (I really like the digital display, but not really the color) Red Blue (looks too juvenile) Quote
