Coneil21 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 If it was once or twice, I would have just thought it was random, but every singe aisle in the monstrosity of Costco had several carts just sitting in the middle of the aisle, and some had their owners standing right next to them looking through shirts or reading boxes. I didn't run the numbers through the Pearson Moment Coefficient, but I am pretty good at math, regardless. 100% were women with kids or were seemingly shopping for kids. Every man shopping, even the ones with kids, were moving or in a non blocking stance. There was a football game about to start in 20 minutes, but I am sure these problems exists during non-game hours too. One woman saw me waiting to get by another woman who was looking at shirts on a table and taking the time to fold them back up (which is cool, I guess). Anyway, when a spot opened on the other side of the table, a woman who was behind me pulled around and parked there, too! I was stuck. While this would not make my angry, but would make me irritated, it did spark some deep anger in me today because I had a child with me, and he was anxious to get out of there, too. It might be just the area I live in, but my wife also agrees that these pretentious moms have some deep sense of entitlement to shop their way and disregard the other shoppers. Men shoppers...I don't see this happening. A little eye contact and a guy will move out of your way and even apologize. Asking the women today to 'excuse me' yielded nothing but scowls from 2 women and one woman who just ignored me and continued to talk on her phone while blocking an entire aisle. I think this is worthy of a study, but I have a baseball game to watch. I would respond to this but i gave to go grab my kid, head to Costco, and park my cart in the middle of an aisle so as to block all the men wanting to get home to watch a football game ..... 2 Quote

Now, now -- he's not being sexist at all. It's just like people who don't want African American children to play on their street because it invites crime, or men who keep their women at home (and out of Costco) where they belong for the ladies own safety, or not wanting your son to take up interior decorating or hair styling because we all know what THAT means. FTR, as an official Mom and Costco shopper, I am a speed demon in there, my kids when they were young enough to be in the way rode in an extra cart, and all the blocked aisles I run into seem to be inhabited by men talking about how the little woman needs to know her place. 2 Quote

Manly man coming through! Clear a path, moms!" Quote
TheOrcKing Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Seriously, why all the mom bashing? Its kind of lame.I think some people just have 'mom' issues.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBLDBDFRp6E 1 Quote
Coneil21 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Abductive reasoning cannot be sexist. You had a bad experience at a Costco. You then announced that all aisle blockers are monstrous women with children. You then went on to claim that men do not block aisles. Call it what you want. But its sexist. #sorrynotsorry Quote
kenchu2000 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 My Costco has a pile of this Metroplex for 79.99, but after looking at the box, I still have no idea what this thing does and what's so special about it. Can someone explain what makes this a good investment? Quote

Abductive reasoning cannot be sexist.Abductive reasoning....isn't that a fancy term for "guessing"? Well, while it may not be sexist, it can certainly come across that way. 1 Quote

Please don't add or change it around. And it was women blocking the aisles. I did not charge any woman as monstrous. I did not say men do not block aisles, but they did not today. I recounted what happened at Costco, and if it does not suit you, I cannot change it. If you're going to call me sexist for something, at least get the context and syntax of my statements correct. No. It's making a decision based on the available evidence. It's never going to be 100%, but my comments did not say that 100% of anyone did anything. I simply stated what I saw at Costco. Quote

Wasn't referring to your use of the word "monstrosity". Was referring to the picture you painted of all moms who shop in Costco, which I inferred to be "monstrous". Sorry for the confusion. I still find your statements to be sexist. If that doesn't suit you, I cannot change it. Sorry. Quote

Diabolos80 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Is there a rule that days any action figure over 12" tall can't have more than 5 points of articulation? The tall Vader is neat but very limited as a toy. Then again, the movie Vader wasn't the most limber fellow anyway. Quote
