teamhappyfrog Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I am not too sure if Nova is in the movie though the Nova Corps are in it and the only Nova fig is in the Daily Bugle set. In the comics Nova was part of the Guardians of the Galaxy for a while. Nova was such a random fig to add to the Daily Bugle. Quote
krayzie Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I was thinking they added nova since he is in the spiderman cartoon. Quote
boxofcorey Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I'm interested to see how the film does, is this subject matter well-known enough for the average consumer? I realized super heroes seem like can't miss content right now but that's with much more household names... how much of the population knows who these characters are? Quote

I also wonder about this, more so how it will relate to sales of the Lego sets. There is at least one episode of Ultimate Spiderman that the Guardians of the Galaxy are in, and if it weren't for that I wouldn't know who those guys are. I was thinking they added nova since he is in the spiderman cartoon. This is correct. A lot of those Spiderman sets are based on Ultimate Spiderman and Nova is part of Spiderman's team along with White Tiger, Powerman, and Iron Fist. Quote

This is by far the most ambitious superhero project Marvel/Disney has tried to date. I am betting it will be massively successful or end in a heap of flames. Quote
teamhappyfrog Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 They are not really a well known team, but I think this movie will set them up as a recognizable name outside of comics books, since this will be a space sci-fi movie. Quote
njseale Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 It's still early, but $75 for that set feels "steep." Quote
seapotato Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 i've never even heard of the guardians of the galaxy. the ship does look like it belongs to the chima line... Quote
Snarkie Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 This looks way overpriced for $75. I probably wouldnt even buy it at 50% off... Quote
stackables Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I plan on getting all the marvel sets and looks like I will just have to wait for a good sale on this one. $75 definitely seems over priced for the set. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I liked the original Guardians of the Galaxy but did not get into the newer iteration when the whole team changed. Anyway, I would guess the look of the ship and characters will make more sense soon as we see the film or an actual trailer. The Ronan minifigure is trippy especially wearing a new hood part. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Well, this caught my eye. Check out the set on the right hand side. Yep, another Guardians of the Galaxy set titled "Knowhere Escape Mission". (Click to enlarge.) While I'm at it, here are a couple of close ups for some other sets. Quote
stackables Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 No good pictures of that set? Looks like Groot is in that one. Quote
TheDarkness Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Groot looks pretty cool, I picked that up from the toyark banner yesterday. Slackers couldn't even put the purple pants Hulk in. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote

Looks like Groot is in that one.I haven't found a more direct shot of that set for some reason, and I believe you are correct about Groot. Slackers couldn't even put the purple pants Hulk in.I only just spotted that detail now that you mentioned it. For shame on their part. :nono: Quote

I find it a little funny that we already have good pictures of the sets that have already been released but the one set we don't have much info on doesn't have a closeup Quote
tormentalous Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I haven't found a more direct shot of that set for some reason... Photography of the GoTG sets weren't allowed at the show. Quote
stackables Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Photography of the GoTG sets weren't allowed at the show. Nobody was able to snap a quickie? Where are all my google glass people? Quote
zskid00 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The Hulk has brown pants!!! Which Hulk? Quote
jal4u2c Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Nope, they are purple pants. I have the set already. 1 Quote
zskid00 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Oh, sorry. I didn't even notice that at first glance. That's kind of funny that they got the display wrong. Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The Hulk has brown pants!!! Why, was he scared? ;-) Quote
