matt1147 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Ok, which one of you is this: http://bit.ly/1aXRSIv Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I saw that one earlier. Definite investor getting out of it. Gonna have to take less though if they want to sell it all. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 A whole lot of battlepacks there! Plus a handful of old sets back when the box said "Lego System" as well. Quote
justafrog Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Somebody get a calculator and tell a lazy frog what the BP value on all that comes to. I'll be over here eating bonbons. 1 Quote
Diabolos80 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I'd be cashing out, too, had I loaded up on Podracers and Space Police. Hopefully the guy's straits aren't too dire. It's a great collection, though. If it were mine, I'd build one of each set while I waited for a buyer B) Quote
Alcarin Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 This is one ''crappy'' collection if youd ask me.... except for MMV, battle packs and a few ''random'' sets he has HERO factory, Toy Story and some ''lame'' SW sets and PRINCE OF PERSIA .... There are some gems though. but quite a few duds also! Quote
justafrog Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I come up with $14,928.38 with current new Brickpicker values. Unless my math is way off, the seller's math is, well, way off. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I come up with $14,928.38 with current new Brickpicker values. Unless my math is way off, the seller's math is, well, way off.My pen to paper calculation was $14,336.14........did you eat all your bonbons and get bored and decide to start calculating? Yes his math is way off.......maybe he is asking what he paid for all those sets. Agreed that he is a reseller trying to get out of the game, his description says he bought all the sets for his son who loves Lego but why all the multiples, why are they all sealed and what's up with the vintage sets? I guess it really doesn't really matter. One things for sure its quite a collection. Quote
emazers Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I would not buy this, plus $1,500 Shipping Quote
Huskers1236 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Outside of a few nice sets, this is like a pictorial review of "what not to buy". Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Outside of a few nice sets, this is like a pictorial review of "what not to buy".Agreed.....I guess I should clarify, I meant impressive from a quantity point of view. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Outside of a few nice sets, this is like a pictorial review of "what not to buy". That was my first thought. However, there are several sets there that would easily make up for the "flops". I still would not pay $25k for it though Quote
Sauromosis Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 It makes you wonder how many people are in this situation and what would happen if they all struggled to unload the sets at the same time. Quote
tonysbricks Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 "Good day to you! I assume at this price the lot includes the kid? Please confirm." 1 Quote
asharerin Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I would be at $3k shipped for this lot. There are about 12 good sets and the other 290 or so I would just donate to charity. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 This lot is really showing what some of you guys really think of Lego products. Sure there are some investment stinkers, but I think it's a cool collection. It's got a bit of everything. The only real problem I see is that the guy is bailing without actually building any of them. Quote
Quacs Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Outside of a few nice sets, this is like a pictorial review of "what not to buy". Are you kidding me? Those Construct-a-Zurgs are all mine!!! Seriously though, If anyone had a Bricklink store selling by the piece, I could see making a play on this lot. Keep the "wheat" sets, and add the "chaff" sets to your piece inventory. That said, there's no way anyone should come close to offering $23K for this thing. Quote
justafrog Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 It makes you wonder how many people are in this situation and what would happen if they all struggled to unload the sets at the same time. It's called "a sale" for everyone in a better position to buy. We just had a multi-year example of such a sale in real estate in several normally-desirable markets. I have no disdain for this seller, I just think his price is wrong for anyone by about $10K, and wrong for the actual target market (another reseller) of a lot like this by at least 18K. Quote
