Creator 2013 - What are your personal picks?

More of a poll for builders and fans of Creator; plus the fact I love another excuse for a poll.

I have never been a creator fan, but I am starting to get pulled into some of the bigger sets. I really like SOH. It was pretty impressive to see it built live.

What can I say, I love the modulars.....even though the Fire Brigade refuses to go EOL!!! Palace Cinema is sweet!

I think the obvious winners are the Family House, the Winter Village Market and the Horizon Express. To me, Family House is the most attractive Creator house in the last few years and they usually show nice gains in the aftermarket. The Winter sets have proven pretty solid so far, and the set looks like a value even above MSRP. And trains are almost bulletproof investments.

 

My sleeper pick would be the Treehouse; it's cute, it's a great "add-on" for neighborhood builds, and it's cheap enough that a post-EOL markup doesn't produce much sticker shock.

 

(the Cinema will be a great investment ... if you're willing to tie your cash up for 4 years.)

I like houses, the Family house is nice if the price is right, I wouldn't buy it for 70 'cause it's not super-great as for me.  Trains are always cool, but this one is not my personal favorite 'cause we have LR same time.  Cinema seem to be the best.  Average year as for me.

I like the theme and it's something I can see myself getting into, but at this point in time I just don't have the cash to justify it.  I have a few other themes that are higher on my collecting list.  plus once I start collecting I know I'd need to get them all and then find room to display them!

Palace Cinema is next on my list to acquire, with SOH, and HE on there as well.  Can't wait to do Aviation Adventures too----that looks just "plane" awesome.

Creator is one theme where I don't feel compelled on collecting all of them but instead purchase more than one of a select few especially at the right price. I certainly agree Family House is an attractive set and although it looks like a good deal at retail, I will wait for potential sales. Treehouse is a nice 'cute' affordable set, Horizon Express is a great modern train, Palace Cinema is yet another wonderful addition to Lego's citscape of modular houses, and Sydney Opera House is simply a work of brick art. Small Cottage seems okay for a cheap house but nothing extraodinary. Aviation Adventures would be one winner from the lineup I think is amazing as well as Highway Speedster of which I am a little surprised no one has voted for yet. I built the car and it is a really cool vehicle!

All in all, a pretty good selection throughout with some nice variations.

Of course the 4 sets with the highest amount of pieces get the most votes. Myself included. LOL

I voted for the Horizon Express. A phenomenal set, but all it's lacking are some tracks and a motor, which I wish were included. Outer than that, it uses really cool building techniques like upsidedown building, and looks cool!
