TheOrcKing Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I just caught this in the news feed and Brickshow is reporting there will be Mega Man based sets from off brand Nanoblocks which you may remember Brianl3 has written a blog on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi-6vfzKRkw All I can say is....really? A BIG name like Capcom and they go with a brand most have not even heard of or possibly care about. Plus the designs are basically renditions of 8-bit sprites from the NES which is kinda geeky cool but typically done for fun with your own bricks and hardly fits as an actual set. A line which could have been a minifigure goldmine with numorous playsets and enemies instead was allowed to be turned into a collection of three-dimensional sprite models. Smooth move, Capcom. :mda: Quote
terrymc4677 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 how is a kid supposed to play with that? looks like a display piece only, which I guess would make sense since kids today have no idea who mega man is. the adult buyers are the ones who grew up playing those classic games (still have my original Nintendo and all the games, including the mega man collection. good stuff). sadowsk1 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I like it. The more competition there is for the collectible brick building sets the better off the consumer is in my opinion. Quote

I am somewhat torn between liking the idea of these Mega Man sets as I still love the original games as well as continue to have them in my possession, and then at the same time I do not because they really could be so much better (and from Lego). I will admit it is an interesting concept of taking flat 2d sprites and then applying a 3d effect to them.On a odd related note of the NES, Journey to Silius still has one of the greatest soundtracks from that console if not the best. Shatterhand, Batman, and Blaster Master were also cool too. Quote
