What is the value of Instructions with used sets?

Hey guys,

I recently acquired a massive collection and I'm in the process of selling off all the completed sets. I'd like to break the used sets down for shipping reasons, but I don't have the instructions. On bricklink it seems like no big deal, but on ebay I feel the need to include instructions. Do I go through the pains of burning the pdf to a disc and ship that, or simply provide the URL of the instructions? Does it make a difference to potential buyers and my bottom line?

I believe that Lego instructions are copyrighted, meaning that you are not supposed to sell them in any form other than the original.  I think that is why most people who sell sets without instructions simply provide links to them.  Personally I do not care if a set that I am going to build has instructions since I know where to find them, but I expect to get at least a small discount when I do not receive the original instructions with a set.

I'd just give them a link. Either way, the buyer will have to have access to a computer, and most likely have internet. Saves you time. Does it change value? Sure it does. That's partially why you can sell instructions on eBay and BrickLink for a profit. I'd generally lean towards having instructions. For un-retired midi sized sets, instructions can be about $7-$10, but  for larger and rare sets, prices can top $75!
