What is the best source to get the poly bags?

I have no idea...i actually spend the $50 or $75 at lego to get it...usually get 2 and end up paying double!!

Does anyone know how those ebay sellers get 10+?  Someone on ebay is selling 3 lots (10 figs) of the new Jor-El for $160...how do they get 30+ Jor-El figures?

I imagine people who run their own shops who order in bulk from LEGO and get a lot of copies. Either that or some insider at LEGO is making some shady stuff on the side.

If the tins don't have a Lego part number, they won't be in the price guide.  Polybags will have a number on the bag to identifiy it, thus allowing it be searchable in the ebay database.

LowestFormofWit, who's that girl in your sig and what crazy video is that from?

Interesting idea. Although they are spread out over nearly every modern theme, so I don't see a big issue with just looking in the LOTR forum for chit-chat on the LOTR polybags or the City forum for talk on the City polybags.

Hot Dog Cart polybag For The Win! If you guys haven't built yours yet, proceed immediately. It's a nice build, and it got me off the hook with my wife, because I spent $90 I plan to build. She displayed it in front of the Palace Cinema and all was well :)

I wonder how many polybags Lego has released already this year? They deserve more attention just based on quantity alone...

Indeed. I don't have one, but that light blue bike looks fantastic!

Polybags have always been my favorite type of packaging. They just feel so real, yet like a novelty item, and with printing they are absolutely stunning, in my opinion.

Okay, so this isn't a whole category created just for polybags but it will have to do. I found a number of older threads discussing polybag collecting and selling in general and merged them with this thread here. Unfortunately older threads don't like merging with new ones that much and the main post for each of them is stuck at the beginning and I haven't found that 'one quirk to make em' work' the way they should. The rest of the posts are sorted correctly but not the starting ones for some reason.

In any case, this is meant to be a topic for all polybag related questions in general pinned to make it easy to find on a dime.

has any one seen the "riding lawnmower" 30224 and know anything about availability?

I wish I could find a source for these polys. No one in my area carries them!

Neither one of my Walmarts carry any of them at all expect maybe once in a blue moon anymore. Target has been consistent with carrying theirs thankfully. I still ended up finding out too late where Target keeps their exclusive holiday ones and missed out on some like the "Ghost with Grandfather Clock" polybag.

The Targets in my area are the worst with their polybagsI can't ever find them. Unless of course you want a Tie Fighter, in which case you're in luck. Every Target within 50 miles of me has at least 50-100 of them per store.

My Walmarts however seem to carry their polybags frequently and in mass quantities. I grab them as soon as they hit clearance. If I let them wait they either get bought, or more often, opened/split/torn/destroyed in the store.

As for TRU, they also have a healthy supply of Polybags, but the kids are ruthless. Sooooo many torn open ones and pieces strewn all over the place.

Most I've paid for any polybag ever was $5.00, and that was a courtesy to a Gamestop employee who scored me a Lex Luthor promo for free. Everything else, $2.00 and below.

My Targets have TIE Fighters and usually a City polybag or two. Nothing ever very exclusive. Here's something funny though. I was able to find the HP the Lab polybag at a Target on clearance, but I never saw them on regular price, and I check my Targets fairly frequently.

Same here in DFW. I'm hoping that Target clears out all of those TIE Fighters with their Summer clearance...tired of looking at them.

Polybags are something I've had mild success with importing and flipping locally as we don't get them in stores.  Some have been very popular, like LOTR, others like Monster Fighters have lingered a bit.

Five Below always has polybags. They are typically marked at $4 (except Friends foil packs @$5), so they're not at much of a discount. I just picked up HP MiniHogwarts and The Lab, and Uruk-hai w/ ballista.

Grolim,

Can you share where you get them from? Retailer, ebay? Thanks!

I usually pick up bulk lots of 5 or 10 from Ebay near the time they are released so I get them cheap.  Not as cheap as US buyers obviously, and the sellers are still getting their cut, but good enough that after shipping (that's why I buy bulk lots) I can usually make a small profit myself.
