i thought it.  ha. sometimes it takes all my willpower to not be sarcastic. a quick eBay search would have answered the question.

I was hesitating because the deal seemed too good to be true. I have never spent that much on a single set before, and I sell mostly on Amazon, where you can't list an item as "New" if the box is beat up.

Dying inside a little....

Please tell me you paid a premium for it so I can fell better. Lol

Congrats!

I got it for less than my Super Star Destroyer.

However, the sound brick seems to need a new battery, and one of the instruction books is crumpled badly.

Feel better?

Yes and no?  Depends if you bought the SSD before or after retirement. ;)

How are the sails?  In good condition?  Was it previously put together?

Yup. Lots to costly check with this set.

8 bright white sails. Lots of fakes lately.

1 sound brick. Hope his just needs new batteries.

1 base plate that is prone to warping / bending due to its size.

I have enjoyed most of the great sets (at least for a while), but I still haven't built this one.

10196 is my holy grail. Just wish it was ready for that BBC photo. Luckily, I was able to buy 2 used (1 with box) to help offset the cost after selling 1 for $500 profit in just 4 months.  Then I scored a 95% completed one for. $250 (missing the scarce green base and 3 sails though) ....

I got the SSD used after retirement for $300. Even though this has been built, it doesn't look like it's completed. The sails and some other pieces are still in sealed bags. The plate is flat, but no sticker sheet.
