tonysbricks Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Yes I did. $22 item. I responded with the tracking both times - for the case and the appeal. This is very strange. I use ebay to print labels so tracking is auto-added to the sales record. I also provide tracking in the case and have never lost a case. I don't understand how the appeals process denied your case, seems very cut and dry. You can try calling the Utah number and talking to a sentient human instead of a script reader. I have had great luck with them. 1 Quote
ravenb99 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 If you did the postage through ebay you should be winning these. I've had an unbelievable 6 of these complaints the past 2 or 3 weeks. All say delivered, all have tracking. Once they file the request for not received make sure to let ebay handle it so it does not count as a defect. Once it is escalated to a case ebay will verify the tracking and will refund the buyer out of there money as a one time courtesy and the case will be closed with no harm to you. Also if they try to leave negative feedback it will automatically remove it. It sometimes can take 24 hours for it to remove though. Bigger question is why has there been an influx in these to begin with where they are scanning delivered but not being delivered. There's enough of them for me to believe they aren't getting there, especially with the people that have been stating it on here as well. If the mail was off it should of been during the Xmas rush not now. Very strange how it has been an higher percentage in late Jan / early Feb Quote
ravenb99 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) I also did ship it from Ebay - so the tracking was right in their system. I had another seller tell me today they didn't get something that shows delivered. Now that I know I wont be helped, kinda hard to not just replace it to keep from the negative feedback. thats very strange, this is what should happen, I pasted the results of 1 of them below. Also if it just happened last night or something it might correct itself. I had one a long time ago where they favored in the buyer but then corrected it the next day. Whoever did the case just hit the wrong thing so you might want to call if it doesn't correct itself. eBay Customer Support has refunded the buyer. We're issuing the buyer a refund for this case. You don't need to do anything else. This case won't be included when we evaluate seller performance. Note: It may take up to 24 hours to update in your Seller Dashboard. Final decision: You were not found at fault. Transaction summary: Any remaining funds from this transaction are available Edited February 6, 2015 by ravenb99 Quote

asharerin Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Did the package show delivered inside of ebay's estimated delivery window? If not you will lose the case. If it did it is an auto win for the seller so something is missing from the story. Delivery date is critical. If you ship late or your carrier is delayed you are on the hook. I thought in Jan and Feb, the post office busy nonsense would die down, but the lines are even longer when I go in there now. Not that I wait in them, I just drop my pre paid package off at the counter and leave, but it looks really busy! Quote
justafrog Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 As everyone else has said, this is not the new norm on eBay -- something is missing here, and it's worth a phone call to try to find out what. Quote
hxckid88 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 that could be true. I know I've been hammering them lately compared to before. same. Not including smart post which was like 5 things I've only shipped 3 things through FedEx this year. Over 100 items through usps though. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 same. Not including smart post which was like 5 things I've only shipped 3 things through FedEx this year. Over 100 items through usps though. Yep. The consequences of UPS and Fedex alienating the small businesses. Quote
cissi Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Just got my share of buyer-stupidly-left-old-address-for-shipment... Buyer claimed not receiving item because eBay shipped the item to her old address. To me, this is really nonsense. She should always check if her name or address is right no matter what she's doing. Chatting to eBay now, it does sound like I'm definitely going to win this anyway. just never thought this thing would happen to me as well. eBay stupidity leaves no one out, doesn't it! Quote
newbiecollect Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) Yep. The consequences of UPS and Fedex alienating the small businesses.I've seen the same. I dropped off couple of returns for Amazon at ups today, very quiet. This same ups store was always packed in the morning before. Went to post office to drop one box, line is worse than usual. Just a small sample but the ups one convinced me that they had to feel it at least a bit. Edited February 7, 2015 by newbiecollect Quote

teohwp85 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) A buyer placed a bid for 2 HEs when there was less than a minute left, paid for them, and decided that he didn't want them anymore, all within half an hour. Edited February 9, 2015 by teohwp85 Quote

Silver lining: you have not spent any energy and time shipping the items. Also you can still offer them to 2nd highest bidder AFTER the cancellation is done 1 Quote

holleman67 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Oh I agree with everyone 100%. I'm just stating what I've seen happen and also understand from the site's stand point. I want brick picker to be here tomorrow, don't want to see ed and Jeff dealing with someone nonsense of a suit. These days people will try and sue for everything. Shislerocco Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Last two items that sold for me were buy it now bidders with zero feedback. One from the Philippines even though I wasn't shipping international. Not sure why buyer restrictions arent automatic when I say I'm not shipping international. Well neither of them have paid! I hate when I forget to use immediate payment. So annoyed having to deal with this the first time and now another Quote

There is also an option in the site preference setting that you can block buyers whose address you don't ship to. It's probably a good thing that they haven't paid if you have any doubts selling/shipping the items to them. Quote

You can only exclude countries and states from the shipping preferences section. You used to be able to do the same in the buyer preferences section, which would block buyers not based in US but not anymore. Now as long as they have a US shipping address, ebay will let them bid and buy Quote
