KShine Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) Wouldn't the minecrafts have different seal codes therefore proving they weren't the ones that were sent? If someone were targeting a seller for this - they would likely look to buy from someone with multiples (or stock photos). So if they purchased 10 of an item with a listing photo of 1 specific set (plus many sellers use stock photos) - it wouldn't matter. Edited December 19, 2014 by KShine Quote
naf Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 So, I get a message from a buyer (0 feedback) stating "Great seller, fast shipping and great item." I reply saying thanks for the feedback, but you have to click the "leave feedback" link in the auction details for it to count. 20 minutes later I get another message from the buyer: "Great seller, fast shipping and great item." Oy...... probably someone's grandma. 4 Quote
justafrog Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 How do you guys handle shipping this close to Xmas? I've clearly bolded in my listing that I cannot guarantee Christmas delivery, though I ship daily USPS Priority Mail. Funny cause I haven't sold anything via eBay all week (mostly Craigslist sales this week), and now I have last minute buyers each with a "hope I get it by Xmas, my so-and-so has it at the top of their list from Santa" note lol! I ship it and ignore the note. If a buyer asks a question, "Will I get this by Christmas?" I answer them. If they just express vague hopes and dreams, I don't feel compelled to respond. Quote
imirish11 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Last time I try to go out of my way for a buyer this holiday season. They ask to ship immediately and I do of course. Literally package the item and slap on a label and hand it to the mailman within minutes. Few hours later the buyer wants to cancel and now that thinks I'm lying about shipping the item out since it wasn't scanned immediately. I won't be surprised if I end up with transaction defect from a neutral or neg feedback. It's always policy for me to wait at 12-24hrs before shipping bc buyers want to cancel all the time, so ya, I shoulda stuck to my own policy. I'll take consolation that the $7 I just donated to USPS is going to an organization that has helped me out a bunch this year. Quote

cladner Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 If you were determined enough to record them for proof then yes if you get the fun loving rep from eBay to understand they mean something. Good luck i included in my auction return policy that they returned boxes must have them same codes that were sent - and listed the codes. i also took pictures of the codes . i only sold a total of 30 sets. i stated in return policy any returned set w code ending in 15 would not be a "first release 2014 edition" set . i would argue this as an attempt at stock manipulation. if i do get a 2015 set returned to me. not sure how much water that holds but at least its out there. 1 Quote
sroster Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 As far as the restocking fees go I have been writing in my return policy that a 20% restocking fee may apply on returns la la la. Now is that what needs to be done or am I doing something completely meaningless and something needs to be set up to really institute a restocking fee? Quote
kunfuzd Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 After posting locally on Craigslist (last night) some small to medium-sized Lego sets, someone posts this: RE: Lego Sets ~ New & Sealed Boxes - $1 (Sparks) - $1 (OverpricedVille) I'm not prone to point out Joke listings however when someone makes a misleading statement like.......... "Looking for that hard-to-find or retired set of Legos?" "Not interested in paying eBay and Amazon prices?" This begs to be addressed publicly for the sake of the folk that may not catch this. "Looking for that hard-to-find or retired set of Legos?" --- Hard to find??? Ya, maybe in the 80's when it had not been even thought of yet. Retired??? for how long?? "Not interested in paying eBay and Amazon prices?" --- People this is really misleading. People on Craigslist are here to get a BETTER price and that's what you think....... This listing actually means that you would rather pay MORE than eBay or Amazon. Look for yourselves. If you want to sell at retail fine. However, please don't make statements that are not true or misleading........ we get enough of that from the Government. PEOPLE DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!! Some of these sets are $10-20 bucks over what you can find them for on the Bay or Amazon........ some are a mere $5 more on those sites but you at least get a replacement guarantee if there's any issues with the product or your money back. Just saying. My first instinct was !@#$%^&*. But then I realized that I should be the bigger man and edit my post with a disclaimer about being a seller but trying to save everyone money and time (during the holidays) by going through Craigslist and bypassing fees, taxes, shipping, etc... I know some of you may disagree, but I believe in full disclosure... Quote
tonysbricks Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Best to ignore it, let buyers waste their time "doing their homework". They will appreciate the service you supply even more. 1 Quote

Under preferences there is actually a tab to set a 20% fee. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Brickpicker mobile app Quote

Bold-Arrow Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Woke up to first negative feedback in 5 years for an item that was delivered in 3 business days (per tracking) i got my first ever negative yesterday. Costumer received damaged package from FBA. FBA blames manufacturer, manufacturer blames UPS, costumer blames me. all is good, on to the next sale. cost of doing business 3 Quote
KShine Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Woke up to first negative feedback in 5 years for an item that was delivered in 3 business days (per tracking) It can be disheartening - I had my first one in a couple years recently. The buyers feedback said that the size of the product was disgusting and that the delivery charges were extortionate. This was a new/sealed 10230 Mini-Modular set, shipped international (duty charges, etc). Negative feedback over Int Shipping, duty, etc. is removable - but since the buyer also mentioned having an issue with the size of the product, I was stuck. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Suckers, I'm guessing no warning or explanation? Google translated the comment in Spanish to "package not received". However, the tracking showed it delivered. I would have helped them with contacting USPS etc, but the negative feedback practically removed any inclination to do that Quote
exciter1 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 It boggles my mind why people don't reach out first? I received a positive negative the other day. They left positive feedback with "package not received" in the note. I contacted them, but they are pretty much blowing me off after I asked them to contact FedEx. Quote

Tips for contacting eBay: call them when they open (9AM PDT) on Saturdays to get fresh agent and hopefully shorter wait time. Negative feedback over Int Shipping, duty, etc. is removable - but since the buyer also mentioned having an issue with the size of the product, I was stuck. That is unfortunate Quote

Jojoyojimbi Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 No I don't mind at all, I've moved from Ebay to almost exclusively FBA after being told I was stupid for discounting it and then giving it a go this holiday. Ebay Utah # 801-545-1592 2 Quote

mscheaf Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 That was a first. Someone bought one of my price gouged items and left me a positive feedback before I even shipped. Quote
minicoopers11 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I just got a negative feedback. Buyer apparently was trying to cancel their order and figured the best way to do so was by leaving a negative feedback. Buyer has 35 feedback ratings...how do they not know how to use eBay?! Quote
