Responding with SNAD & negative feedback for this transaction is extremely unreasonable. The seller has no other history of selling LEGO, and for a seemingly honest mistake, you would suggest that the buyer should get taken down???

You might want to scan that LEGO pile one more time and see if you find any of these: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=50950&name=Slope, Curved 3 x 1 No Studs&category=[Slope, Curved]#T=C&C=11 I've got one on my desk that I received in a BL order and somehow when I tried lining it up with other similar bricks it didn't quite look the same (higher lip on the front). Upon VERY CLOSE inspection on the inside I could see a small "Hasbro" mark. You might have pieces like that too in your "assumed to be genuine LEGO" pile on the top. Yes, you are due something - I would suggest a partial refund based on the estimated % of non lego parts.

Definitely contact them, if anything, take the sales price, weight both Lego and non-Lego and cut the price by that percentage of total weight that is non-Lego. Re-invoice and pay that. Both seller and buyer will be happier. (EDIT - wow, long morning as this advice is the same that I quoted, Oh boy, this is going to be a good day!!) Also, low cost, maybe, but I got the same type of lot, twice as much cargo, for nearly the same price. I didn't find any non-Lego in the shipment. 5 lbs all Black about $40 Not a brag, but just FYI for next time and more reason to get some type of reimbursement. Anyway, they refunded me in full, including the shipping cost. Guest TabbyBoy
I recently had an eBay request a 100% refund for an item not received. This was because the buyer's PayPal mailing address was incorrect and I was only advised of this a week after sending the item. The buyer checked tracking and saw a "Returned to sender" message. Of course, I'm a fruitcake too as this is the first shipment this year where a numpty like me FORGOT to put the return address on the side of the package - the Law of Sod! However, eBay have sided with me regarding the case that was opened and the Royal Mail are trying their best to locate the package (it's in a holding warehouse in Belfast) as they now have my address. I've been brought up to provide excellent customer service so I will still post this item to the buyer's CORRECT address as a gesture of goodwill. Even though it was her honest mistake, I don't want her to lose out as she was very apologetic and polite with messages. If only eBay weren't too tight to refund her themselves - they have more than enough funds in the "FVF on postage" pot! If it was a stroppy buyer, I'd just think "ToughTitty" and move on. See... I do have some scruples!

Guest TabbyBoy
I've just sold my first expensive set on eBay in a long time and got a PayPal chargeback 10min after the item was collected by courier! I did notice that the buyer had no feedback but, PayPal showed a confirmed address which I always check. Unfortunately, I got the horrific email from PayPal only 10min after the courier picked up the box! Since the address is confirmed, I'll probably give the guy a visit as I'm going up that way with a few mates (one is a copper) in 2 week's time. Of course, I'll wait for a resolution from eBay/PayPal in my favour first before the buyer has a really bad day. I just can't wait to tell eBay to go to Hell in the new year when I close my business account. I can't help thinking that there are far more crooked buyers than sellers out there! It's been a strange month for me... I've had cracking deals that I've flipped for cash straight away yet, I'm the only one to receive trashed boxes from TRU and they've still not replied to me. I spoke to a solicitor today as I've had enough of them ignoring me and I've finally decided to take TRU to the Small Claims Court! This is from advice given to me by the Citizens Advice Bureau and Trading Standards are going to represent me when it goes to court. I'll accept an out-of-court settlement but, I want serious compensation on top of the refund. NOBODY screws with a Tabby no matter how big they are! If you don't do this already, make sure that EVERY item you post is fully insured and trackedas eBay/PayPal are more likely to be on your side. Also keep any paper receipts showing proof of postage as online records can go AWOL.
doon73
Surely getting the chargeback 10 mins after collection would be enough for PayPal to know the buyers pulling a fast one, or maybe not?

I've already looked into it and it turns out that the eBay account holder is not the fruitcake. Some r-sole had compromised his eBay/PayPal/card accounts as I spoke to the genuine eBayer and he mentioned that his bank also called him to say there was another £1600 unaccounted for. I've managed to call Collect+ and have successfully intercepted the parcel and it should be returned to the drop-off shop within 48 hours for me to pick up. I won't get the postage back (isn't that what insurance is for?) but, hopefully eBay will reimburse that along with the fees. At least we had a good chat and in fact his son wants a big Star Wars set for Xmas so I offered do him a deal as he's only 15 miles away from me ;-) Now that I have the fraudster's address (200 miles away) on the dodgy PayPal payment, I'm going to send them a photo of the item they're expecting with "EPIC FAIL - Nice try, your address has been passed on to the police!" printed in red on a sheet of A4 paper. Of course, the envelope will be marked "URGENT, Post Office collection card enclosed" and "Postage to be paid by addressee" so I hope they have 64p spare on them! Or... I could just send them a few Tabby cat turds from the litter tray! Apparently, I'm the eleventh LEGO seller to be affected today by a fraudster based at this address: **EDITED OUT PERSONAL INFO** Keep your eyes peeled and DO NOT ship to the above! However, you can post some canine or feline DNA to that address by all means!

I went back to ebay from Amazon this year to sell a Haunted House new in sealed bags and no box. My buyer also did a chargeback within minutes of tracking updated with the package getting picked up. Luckily in the USA paypal policy is you just have to show the item was shipped (delivery is not required). It was an easy chargeback win and I contacted Fedex and had the package redirected to us. Got to keep the money and got the set back. Ebay buyer was kicked off. Not sure if I want to give ebay another shot it seems like the buyers are even worse than when we left lol. Let's hope that other UK members don't get caught out as this one was difficult to spot as everything looked legit until I had the warning email from PayPal themselves. So it'll just be me that ships him the contents of our cats' litter tray? At least there's not a baseball bat involved ;-) From now on, I'm letting 24hrs pass before I post anything on eBay.
