legoman12323123 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 People forget how amazing Ebay is. I have 7 helms deeps that were 90, 90, 90, 93, 94, 95, 95 on Ebay. 3 Tower Bridges, 210, 200, and 170. A bunch of people have bought all these Unexpected Gatherings at $49 clearance prices - I have seen several on Ebay for $45. Just have to know what to look for! Hint: Read my blogs on Ebay searching. Picked up a few unexpected gathering for 45 bucks Free ship .. no tax on ebay .. makes you wonder tho .. because it sells for $49 in stores at walmart + tax .. and not to mention the cost to ship the set .. so I am not sure how selling a brand new box for 45 bucks free shipping with ebay/paypal fees how they can turn a profit. I am going to assume drop ship or stolen Quote

I am going to assume drop ship or stolen People wouldn't do that for such a small set. What happens often is: 1. People buy these on clearance for even lower and flip them quickly for a few bucks 2. People buy them on clearance and then see they aren't worth much and sell them cheap. If you are going to drop ship something, you normally would pick a bigger set. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Here is a pretty obvious one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-Monster-Fighters-Haunted-House-Play-Set-/190885193884?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item2c71a4e89c How often do you see the Haunted House for $155? Quote
RogerWilco Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 What do you guys think about this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-Star-Wars-R2-D2-Figure/141037084599 Quote
Quacs Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 While this isn't an eBay scammer, it sure looks suspicious. It is actually a "Sponsored Link" on eBay. http://centoys.com/index.php/ Anyone have any experiences with ordering from this company? The pricing for these Lego Exclusives seems insanely low across the board. This website screams "PromotionLists"-type scam to me. Quote

It is a scam - I bought from them previously and it was dropshipped and they paid an insane price for it. I returned it. Also - good rule of thumb: Type the item into google and go to "shopping". If it isn't indexed by Google, a lot of times it is illegitimate as well. Quote

RogerWilco Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Well... I think I just fell for a scam. I am a total ebay noob and was looking for a good deal on a UCS R2 to build. Jumped on one of the first ones I saw and pulled the trigger. After the initial excitement I realized that something seemed off, so I took a closer look and, after reading this thread, it is pretty damn obvious that its a scam. I have requested a cancel and refund of my order. Hopefully it will be done without issue. I feel sick.... Quote

Just ask for the refund - most of them don't want the trouble and they will do it. If they fight it - ask them where it was shipped from. If the listing says somewhere different, you have a reason for refund as the item was not represented to you properly. Feel free to PM me if you need anything else. I have unfortunately done this before... Quote

Hopefully they will... Quote
nessieslc Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 http://centoys.com/index.php/lego-friends-summer-riding-camp.html It's got to be right, because no way they can have this set for $64! Quote

Yes, they aren't legit. I ordered from there once. No customer service - never received it, paypal gave me my money back. Quote
Guest idunno101 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 A lot of the stuff on there is too good to be true so it's most likely a scam. Quote
emazers Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I called that toll free phone number the other day and it was a company in Chicago, and they knew nothing about selling Lego sets. Quote
mikeur86 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 wow, these sites are popping up everywhere Quote
RogerWilco Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 In the continuing saga... Guy said he was having issues with paypal and couldn't refund my order. He assured me that everything was legit (uh huh). He takes quite a while to respond back to me when I message him, unfortunately. I asked for specifics on where he was shipping from and for photos of the item. I said I did not want the item if it was not shipped from the stated source on the auction. He replied by stating that the item is already on the way.... ughh. Quote

matt1147 Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Check out the shipping. It's probably a typo...or it's shipped via submarine from Fiji. Quote
RogerWilco Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Finally got the guy to refund my purchase after giving him an ultimatum. Here is what he wrote back: "ok I will refund you and prove you are not fooled by your delivery for next week. Once you get them you have to pay" Huh? I guess he's still planning on shipping??? Quote
