Does anyone else find the designers in the videos a bit odd? Most of them seem super soft spoken, shy and seem like they don't get out all that much. They should get actors to talk about their sets. Some videos are a little uncomfortable to watch for me.

I actually find them to be someone I can relate to and like seeing a 'normal' person talking about the product instead of sticking an actor in there as though it was another oddball commercial. I'll even admit I think Astrid Graabaek (the woman from the Palace Cinema designer video) is very beautiful.  Maybe some of the guys seem a little strange but then again, we're investing in a childrens toy or still build with it and we're how old now?

I still think Al Pacino or Samuel L. Would be a better choice ;)

On the flip side of the coin look at Jamie, he is comfortable with speaking about sets. Something you may not factor in is that the designers could be speaking a second language. Regardless I personally love the videos, it's nice to put a face to a set. It's nice to see their passion translate through their explanations of the sets.

I don't think we should be criticizing his speech or mannerisms. It is likely not his first language, and if it was - then we are being a bit cruel (btw, I know that wasn't what you were intending).

Yes, I wasn't pointing it out to be mean at all, honestly. I myself don't have any problems or qualms with how he spoke at all. If anything he reminds of how a kid can get when they are so excited about showing what it is they came up with. It was actually quite nice to watch him talking about the various features and such. The fact he wore a "The Munsters" t-shirt made me like him already! :thumbsup:

I think alot of it does have to with english not being their native language. Anyways I was just making an observation, i wasnt trying to be mean.

They also have accents that are sometimes hard to understand, for example the designer of Helm's Deep. Some of them are better than others, but it is cool to see the process that they went through to make the final product.

Yeah the language barrier is obviously a factor for some.  I usually watch them for the sets I'm interested in but they are a bit too much like a straight out advert for the set.  I'd like to hear more about the design decisions and the process behind how and why some of those decisions were made.
