DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I like the back part of it. Detail all the way around. Quote
hepcatpunk Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Looks fantastic, sign me up for a few! Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 reminds me of the rip off tourist traps at the Champs D'Elysees. I love it! Quote
TheOrcKing Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 That....is....just....F**KING AMAZING!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I noticed it has almost as many parts as the Town Hall yet not as expensive thankfully. This beats just about anything artistically as well as visually. First official scooter for Lego I can remember. Quote
rcdb1984 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 wow that one is beautiful...I wasn't that big on the PC, but this one looks really nice! Quote
lowillsw Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 That's awesome they showed the waiter opening the bottle of champagne with a sword in the back of the box. That is extremely thoughtful by the designer! Quote
@rtisan Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Wow! It looks great! Love the colour scheme, and admire the fact that this (correct me if I`m wrong) the first Modular to offer stunning details all the way around. Definitely one for the collection. Quote
Sabrejimmy Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I think it looks incredible - so many details on each floor! I can't wait to buy it!!!! Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 The bar is raised again! I can't believe how they keep improving these things... Incredible detail... yet it still has that awesome classic feel. Big thanks to you Huskers for sharing... but now I'm all jittery and won't fall asleep for hours... lol Quote
Anakinisvader Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 It should have been named "Chez Brick Masterson". Quote
Ivanlau1999 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 What is happening with the minifigure face......... Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 What is happening with the minifigure face......... You mean the classic smileys? That's the "trademark" of the modular theme, adding an innocent touch and nod to classic town. Personally, I love them for that. Quote
legopocalypse Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I'll get one for my collection and I do like the detail, but I wish I was more excited about this one. Guess I just wish they would've done a school, hospital, police station, etc. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 And people were ranking on Chima. Here that whole thing uses the new olive green color from that line. Ha! What is happening with the minifigure face.........Lego seems to like to use the same classic smiley face from way back when for these. I guess they figure the people who would build these modulars have been around for a while themselves. Wallet opens again....And dies from a heartattack. :swoon: Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 And dies from a heartattack. Speaking of which the pricing of the set appears to be very hopeful news (for Canadians, at least, unfortunately for y'all south of the border its 10 dollars more). According to Eurobricks the US and CDN prices are $159.99 and $189.99 respectively, compared to the usual modular respective prices of $149.99 and $199.99; tightening the price difference it by 20 bucks. Ten bucks cheaper than normal isn't huge by any means but was a good step in the right direction for us canucks, I'll say! Quote
Quacs Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 What a beautiful build! I will be picking this up in January. Quote
Bernard74 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Love it, love it, love it! Will probably order one to build on first day of availability. Quote
sschmotz Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Now this looks like a nice modular set. The last 2 just haven't done it for me. The cinema is an easy no because it looks like it's out of the 80's and the Town Hall just seems way too big and doesn't fit in with the others IMO. TH's don't sit in a row of buildings, they sit off by themselves. This restaurant though will fit perfect next to the GG, GE, PS, and CC. Lots of good looking details, can't wait to see this, hopefully it will be available for Xmas for VIP's. Quote
ausleigh Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I think that's awesome. Makes me think more about the need to get some of the earlier mods and set aside, as I easily see this attracting people to the line. Quote

The Palace Cinema is actually modelled after a Hollywood Boulevard movie theatre that was built in 1926: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TCL_Chinese_Theatre But I agree, it doesn't fit well with the rest of the line and because of that it's my least favourite modular (though I still couldn't resist). Very happy that Lego went back to the more classic look. And: looks like no stickers, woohoo! Quote
Snarkie Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I'm so glad that lego made those exclusive printed pieces. Definitely happy to pay extra for those Quote
tigereyes5811 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 LOVE the color. Olive green goes well with the blue. And I'm a big big fan of tile floors. Wish it was retiring soon already. :) Quote
Alcarin Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 This just might be the first Modular building I ever bought Quote
