DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 How much bigger is it than the normal set? Quote
nolanfan34 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Insane was the word I was thinking of. That is incredible. Is it bad that I was almost more interested in all of the unopened sets displayed in the background? Quote
nolanfan34 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 How much bigger is it than the normal set? Yeah, I wish we had the scale. 6200+ pieces vs. 800+ for the last AT-AT though.....man. Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Yeah, I wish we had the scale. 6200+ pieces vs. 800+ for the last AT-AT though.....man. Diabolos80 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 That is gorgeous. Apparently the designer will provide the instructions upon request, too. Super cool. And at 6,200 pieces, it almost sounds affordable. Quote
Huskers1236 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I remember seeing this on Eurobricks when Cavegod(pete) first showed it off. It is truly huge, and would be a giant undertaking to round up the parts and complete this. I am always amazed at the ability and creativity that people like this have. I have seen pictures with this and 8129, and this is about twice as tall as the standard Lego AT-AT, if that helps. Quote
comicblast Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Wow. Monstrous piece of plastic!! Imagine the cost! Ummm...Allowance for the next 15 years? Quote
Huskers1236 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Looking at that picture, I was way off in how big this was. It's more than twice as tall, and MUCH bulkier. Where the heck would you put something like this? Quote
TheDarkness Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Cavegod's designs are always pretty special. The good thing is he is always tinkering with them, trying to improve them as well. Quote

Where the heck would you put something like this? I was thinking the exact same thing, my wife can tolerate my imperial shuttle in the corner..but no way would she let me have that built! Lol Quote
Quacs Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 The designer should come up with a way to put a piece of glass on top of this and use it as a coffee table... Quote

Where the heck would you put something like this? On the hood of your car. Or attached to your house. It just needs to be a general Cod piece. Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 If TLG were to produce something like this, it would jump right up to the second best UCS set ever made. While not quite as iconic as the Falcon or X-wing, the AT-AT is definitely one of the more recognizable vehicles from any film and a favorite among builders of all ages. I'm really surprised it hasn't been made already. 1 Quote

This thing's so awesome it almost made me forget the Falcon lol. Quote
Ed Mack Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I willing to trade a MISB 10179 for that model. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I willing to trade a MISB 10179 for that model. With 6,200 pieces and free instructions from the designer, you might be able to build one for around $7-800. Think it's possible? Quote

Quacs Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 D- The builder, drdavewatford, actually said the piece cost was, at a worst case, $600-650, and thought that with some good brick purchasing could possibly bring this price down further. I estimated between $350-600 based on drdavewatford's thoughts. See his blog here. Quote

Darth Lego Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Someone created this model and is now selling it on eBay. It is for local pickup only, (It is in the UK.), and is currently at Quote
