ApesInCapes Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I couldn't find a thread for this already so if it exists please shift this one. Interesting ebay auction that ended. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-sealed-LEGO-6754-Creator-Family-Home-Retired-Set-Insanely-deadly-fun-/300919893893?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item4610392f85 I liked the title of the auction. Guest eightbrick Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 The description is even better. He first describes how the set's awesomeness is responsible for the death of one of his neighbour's kids and the injury of another and then finishes off by saying all proceeds will go to a soon to be homeless man (him). Interesting, I wonder if he was trying to laugh people into clicking the bid button. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 hahahahahaha, awesome auction description. Quote
Darth Lego Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 That is probably the most interesting title/description of a LEGO set that I've ever seen. Haha. Quote
LowestFormOfWit Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Pretty slick. Shame that if you tried to use it as a selling strategy across the board, it would both tire your poor fingers out and make each successive auction less impacting, which was the point of going over the top in the first place. Still, very funny. Best auction description I've seen in awhile. **WARNING** Offensive language. Parental discretion is advised. comicblast Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 "So much fun, that when I carried the box into my house and the neighbor's kids saw it, their heads exploded! One was pronounced dead at the scene, while another two are now recovering, thanks to the miracle of modern medical science. (Don't worry, the one that passed away was the least favorite one anyways)." That's great! If only there were more of these... He would just get my bid because of the description! Quote
TheOrcKing Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 He would just get my bid because of the description! And therein lies the brilliance of it all.**WARNING** Offensive language. kerrmando Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Hah that was awesome... I try to stay away from scaring people away from my store but that would be fun to do sometime... Quote
meowingthings Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I found a store that has two of these on the shelf for $60. I see they sell periodically for around $100. It doesn't look like they sell to often though. I am not sure if that is because sellers are trying to get too much or if the popularity just isn't there. If I buy these and list them on eBay for $90 each + shipping, anyone have a realistic idea of how long it would probably take to sell? Thanks. Quote
TheDarkness Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Grab them without even thinking about it! Quote
MartinP Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 It looks like a good deal, and I would buy them, but I am not sure how long it would take to sell them. If I was selling them, I would wait until the holidays in December and sell the sets then. In December there are a lot of sets sold so it would not take a long time for the sets to sell. Quote
Happyblue22 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Grab them without even thinking about it! What he said! I would hold for Christmas, stick $125 and free shipping on them. You can always come down in price if they don't sell right away. Quote
Gondorian Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 You are one lucky person. If those are still on the shelf at that price, then I have to wonder what other great deals are available in your area! Quote
comicblast Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 That's a great find, Meowthings. It is one of the bigger and sturdier Creator houses, and looks great. For building or investment, I would go for it! Quote
Anakinisvader Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I'm getting $100 for mine right now. I'm down to one. I paid less than 60 though. You should be able to get at least $125 at Christmas. I say: go for it. Quote
Phoenix3270 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I feel that the Family House is overpriced, although I could be wrong. Does anyone else think it's expensive? Right now on Amazon it's 84.95 USD. Quote
justafrog Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 It's being offered by a 3rd party seller. Lego.com has them in stock for 69.99 Quote
