Diabolos80
Same as Wit. I wouldn't want to have one from another date back in the day and be like "hey remember that time at that movie in the back of the theater" and my wife all of a sudden slap me since it wasn't her. Memory fades a little more with age. haha What's really awkward is when she gets mixed up, too, and says she remebers that. Then later you realize you were mistaken, so now you're thinking, well who was SHE making out with? it's fun, try it :)
Guest eightbrick
Some great cartoon clips here. Not to break the trend of them, but here's my youtube pick for the day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj6ho1-G6tw PS for anyone wondering, I think the trick for embedding the video if it doesn't work is to type [ media ] at the beggining of the link and [ /media ] at the end of the link (remove the spaces between the media word and brackets)

I get those non-existent memories from her all the time.
sadowsk1
Not me. I kept the tickets to my sons first baseball game. Our home team also gives a certificate to kids for their first game so that should look nice in a frame. Hopefully he likes baseball. 100 movies a year, that seems like a lot to me. Interesting collection.
weakside
i use to save them for a while but than one day just decided to do a major decluttering job...good for memories but I am not the type to save/collect everything. I wonder what a pair of mint and unused original Star Wars premiere tickets would fetch? Wonder if they even date/time stamped back than. I wonder what a pair of mint and unused original Star Wars premiere tickets would fetch? Wonder if they even date/time stamped back than. Apparently, not that much. According to a quick eBay search I did, 3 tickets for A New Hope sold for $9.99. The picture is too small for me to tell if the date is stamped, sorry. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=star+wars+ticket+1977+stub&_ipg=50&_sadis=200&_adv=1&_sop=12&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&_dmd=1&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xstar+wars+ticket+1977.TRS0&_nkw=star+wars+ticket+1977&_sacat=0&_from=R40
TheOrcKing
I used to like this, because they mixed up all the Hanna Barbera characters and threw them all into one show:My favorite Hanna Barbera anything was Dastardly & Muttley. They were like Pinky & the Brain as villians go that you root for to actually succeed.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj6-LG5VpGkHere is my personal best cartoon of the 90s: Batman: The Animated SeriesOne of the best depictions of Batman in any media. Gotham was as dark as it should be. Batman was smart, decisive, grim, and tough but yet fair. The voice actings were superb and the musical scores helped build up the athmosphere. The storyline was engaging and "grown up" oriented without being too complicated. This was the show that introduced Harley Quinn to the world. The character was so popular, the character was added to the mainstream Batman comics based on the show (usually it is the other way around)This Batman was the base of the other DC animated shows that came after it (Justice League, Batman Beyond, etc)I would rather watch this version of Batman than any other versions, real life or otherwise The opening theme is so badass, it does not need to show the series title. Yet you know it is time for BatmanBy the way, for the SW fans, Mark Hamill played the Joker in this seriesI seriously cannot '+1' that post no matter how many times I hit that darn green arrow! That was probably the greatest superhero animated series ever conceived, period. I still don't know who thought of getting Luke Skywalker to do the voice of the Joker. I mean, who would think that?!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb8fWUUXeKM
TheOrcKing
I still have a lot of these exo suits lying around. They were pretty cool and make for good inspiration.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWwTnZyrDygI know, this was like the Transformers knockoff even though these characters came first.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsw0OnIcU1IAnd this is so old school but who cares. WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!!!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaXWy-HQefcThe films and animated shorts for this character are such classics.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3FAjAq4m5YDon't mind me, I'm just adding whatever pops into my head. :derisive:

That Batman series had some of the best storylines ever written for an animated series. LOL at the Gobots. I remember kids always talking crap about them being a Transformers rip-off. But when we got the toys we used to just mix em all up together anyway.
emazers
The reason Avatar in Imax 3D was the best is because James Cameron spent 3 Years filming the Movie In IMAX 3-D, 90% of 3-D Movies since Avatar has been Converted 3-D, Take Man of Steel, I seen it in Imax 3-D First, then I saw it in Just IMAX, The Plain IMAX was better, Now next week will be Pacific Rim in IMAX 3-D and Grown-ups 2 . Now go back to 1960 when it was .25 to see a movie, and .50 Saturday and Sunday and they usually had two Elvis Movies, John Wayne, stuff like that. .25 for a bag of Popcorn and soda and .15 for a candy bar. in 1963 when Clint Eastwood's Fistfull of Dollars came out we I was 14, and it was playing in the city, so me and my buddy took the bus and when we got there it says it was playing with a Triple XXX Porno film, so crap so we just walked up and got our tickets and nobody said nothing. Ed Not as old as your stories, but I do remember back in the early 80's when you could ride your bike down to the local 7-11, get a slurpee for like 50 cents and it would have a pair of those old school red/blue 3D glasses attached to it, and about once a week one of the major networks like CBS or NBC would show a movie in 3-D, it was usually some old Western or sci-fi film that had been converted, but I used to love getting a slurpee and those glasses. Of course there was no DVR back then and VCR's were too expensive for most families, so you better be ready and sitting in front of the TV when it came on. Diabolos80
Converted 3D is almost as bad as 7-11 glasses and a tube tv. At least in the 80s that technology was free...

Now that was some quality 3D stuff. They still have it at Disney World, but they converted it to the newer passive shutter tech now.

TheOrcKing
This was one of my all time favorite television series. The integration of narration and visual imagery was perfect, and was such a perfect role for John Hurt. My favorite tale was "Hans My Hedgehog" and "The Soldier and Death" although all of them were just as good as the last really.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs81RjW4kvs
DoNotInsertIntoMouth
I been going to the movies since about 1957, now back then and up to the 80's most theaters just gave you a plain movie ticket, just like a raffle ticket, Not until the Lowe's, AMC, Regal and a few other major Movie Chains came around, there Ticket Stubbs had the Movie, date etc on it, Thats when I started Saving mine, and if the movie was in 3D I Put the ticket on the glasses with a Rubber Band I usually see about 100 or so movies a year. Alot of people think this is stupid and alot of people I told do it now, So you take your 7 year old son to see Superman in 3D, well save the glasses with the Movie Ticket and what other movies your kids see or what you see, and in 20-30 years or so will love looking at those old movie stubbs. If it sounds stupid and a waste of time well don't do it, plus you might have the 2 ticket stubbs of you and your girlfriend or wife of your first date or so, Plus I also have a wall Calendar for each year where I put where I saw the movie and rate it 1-4 Stars. As of now the Best 3D Movie is Avatar in IMAX, and if you ever get chance to see Friday The 13th Part in 3D at a Theater go see. There are only about 5 Theaters in the US that can show it the way it was in 1983. It has to be the old Theater, not the newer Theaters, so Check the picture below. Ed I think this is really cool Ed. I should start doing this. I used to save them with my first girlfriend, but when we broke up I threw them all away. I should probably start saving them with my wife. lol. All I wanted to do on this website was talk about Lego and be happy, and he had to go ahead and mortify me. Now I won't be able to sleep for a week. I hope you are happy with yourself. Fcbarcelona101
Merged the Chucky thread with this one. Let's bring the movie discussions and news to this pinned thread from now on. I recently watched some of the old Chucky movies and I have to say it was really funny for most of its running time!. I will probably see this one too, just not on theaters.
