Akin to the "Musical Picks" topic, I want to hear what your all time favourite movies/television shows are. It can be anything from action to drama to sports to romance (who watches that anyway though?). Don't be shy and don't be mean to other members, even if they really did enjoy Superbaby-Geniuses or whatever that piece of crap was called xD

I'll start off with a couple of my favs; I find most of the ones I put down are great films all together, but have shining endings.

Blood Diamond (Thriller/Drama): Leo DiCaprio picks up a sick south african accent in this eye-opening thriller/drama. Great music but if you're a Leo fan, you can probably already guess how it ends lol.

Friday Night Lights (Sports): I'm not a football guy, but the cinematography and story made this a refreshing change to the typical, predictable, sports movie. Plus, the instrumental music by Explosions in the Sky fits perfect (note: the trailer is crap, watch the film).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzyp4qOW0F0

The Lord of The Rings Trilogy (Fantasy): If you are on a Lego forum where Lego LOTR products are frequently discussed, you probably already know how awesome the films are. If you don't, I'll leave it up to the mods to immediately revoke your membership to BrickPicker (jk).

And last I'll just end with my favourite TV show, which is probably going into its final season this year, The Mentalist (crime procedeural): this murder-a-episode series focuses on a former psychic who is now tracking the serial killer who murdered his family. The show can be light and funny, but when the serial killer ("red john") gets involved, it can get pretty unnerving. The series has spent 5 years tracking down murderers so feels a bit tired, but it is still my favourite. And, I'll post a trailer for the 3rd season finally:

Phew, if you got through all that... you don't get bored easily, do you? Now tell me your picks!

I just watched Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon a couple of days ago. It was pretty kickass with a whole lot of spectacular fighting alongside some mystery and intrigue. It was kind of like a Chinese Sherlock Holmes. Ha. There are a few spots were the speaking can get rather fast and difficult to catch up without pausing but that is just a minor quibble really.

I have been getting caught up on some classic television series' I had bought on DVD some years ago such as this particular one. Instead of me just coming right out and stating the title, I wanna see if anyone here can take a stab at it by recognizing the little introduction said at the start of every episode. Ahem...

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission.

We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen to crystal clarity.

For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. You are about to participate in a great adventure.

You are about to experience the awe and mystery that reaches from the inner mind to.... ___ _____ ______!

was it the outer limits. I can hear the intro in my head and only remembering it was in black and white

edit oh yea boondocks this monday happy happy joy joy

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! :)

There was a new version back in 1995 with a couple different intros.

Yeah, I am eager for that to start up again. Just the other night they showed the episode about Uncle Ruckus' past.

I love the Outer Limits series from the 1990s.  I watched most of the episodes on Scifi channel (yes kids, once upon a time syfy had a reasonable name).  This was probably the only anthology series where worlds/stories in some previous episodes got revisited in the subsequent episodes.

I am really not sure how to even remotely try explaining this Aardman series to someone else through text. It's just weird and goofy.... and weird. The theme tune is quirky but so catchy. Gotta love crazy Vince. ;)

Just finished attack on Titan uber good. Great sound track and realalistic character reaction to death. Something about the animation of the titans is familiar just can't put my finger on it.

I caught the new season episode of Boondocks last night. Part of the basic scenario has been done before but still funny. On a side note, I think that was one of the few episodes to have the "N" word hardly said at all if it even was.

What's the ****** word... :)

Is it like the p word in daily deals

I was being wait for it....... Facious.

I'm familiar with the show.

Finished watching first season of attack on Titan a couple weeks ago(subtitled). Now it's on Cartoon Network and it was so good I'm going to watch it all over again. Highly recomendo

Da Vinci's Demons    The pope locking up his twin brother and taking the papacy. lol   Did this really happen in history at some point?

Hannibal        "God takes lives everyday, and are we not created in his image?"  Now they are eating together, can this show get any cooler?

Black Sails  Not a bad 1st season

Bates Motel- season 1 is slow season 2 should have been season 1

Don't forget Grey's on Thursday for the wifey's.

Would it be so surprising if it did? Countless people have been burned or slaughtered by claims of heresy. Heaven forbid if someone were to reach the conclusion of the world not being flat or the center of the universe with the sun revolving around us instead. In any case, the show of Da Vinci's Demons certainly takes a number of liberties with its story for certain; interesting ones at that I may add.

Agh, I missed that on Cartoon Network and I really wanted to see it. Hopefully I can catch a repeat later in the week.

The trailer for the next part in the new Planet of the Apes saga.

Also something for a movie called The Maze Runner.

I know absolutely nothing about the comic that GOTG is based on, but that looks...Interesting.

So many slow motion shots in GOTG, did the director go to "Michael Bay's How to Direct 101" class ?

So Maleficent isn't even in theatres yet, and a trailer for Cinderella (2015) is already out. (Don't get too excited about the trailer...I'll save you time and just tell you that it's just the shoe. No people. No pumpkins. Just the shoe.)

Well, it is a nice looking shoe. I can
