stephen_rockefeller
The prices for sold listing is all over the place. I'm gonna hold onto my 5 for now. I'm a hoarder.
Quacs
Yeah I am struggling to not go ahead and dump the one I have for 300$ plus. I don't know how high it could reasonably go from now. So tempting - but if I see it at $700 in two years, I would poop myself. But you will have used that $300 on other Lego, and turned it into at least $700 in two years, no? I wouldn't hesitate to liquidate at $300.

Careful, this one seems to be a bubble. When they release more later this year, you'll lose out when people can buy at retail again.

When they release more later this year, you'll lose out when people can buy at retail again.and for every person who believes that, what will the price do when lego finally announces it's retired, or they're moving on to a completely new book and set in black? These things were BN exclusives. They're not in the BN computer anymore, external nor internal. They've removed the store displays and replaced them with regular lego architecture displays. In my opinion, They're gone.
Deez_Brickz
I only have one which I got when amazon was down to single digit stock level. Holding it for now but watching prices. I would be very happy with $500.

anon33
Do not think this one was hoarded much. In fact think it caught a lot of people by surprise. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Brickpicker mobile app
No More Monkeys
Auctions-style listing were ending at around 335-340 for last couple of weeks. I suspect that those lowered BINs are done by the fine folks here who got on yesterdays TRU's lost truck
No More Monkeys
And if you look at the sold/completed listings, the true range was 325-360. I can see at most 2 completed listings from above 400, one of them being some sort of private listing bulls**t
Ed Mack
The one thing that makes me think this set won't be coming back is the very short production run. There must have been some sort of issue with production of this set that caused them to stop reproducing it(maybe the book printing as some say). It must have made the set "unprofitable" to LEGO, so much so that they scrapped a very cool and collectible set. LEGO does not have a history of retiring sets that are profitable. But the big question is certainly whether or not they would be able to "fix" whatever issue they had, and it is taking them a while to restart production. If they know that they can't fix it, then it is unclear why they did not set it to "retired" during recent batch of retirings. So, they have some hope, perhaps. It is certainly becoming melodramatic at this point - we probably all going to laugh about all our speculations a year from now...

No one really knows, but maybe the real interest in this set was from investors and resellers and not regular customers, so the market for this set appears better than it is. Maybe the set was a huge disappointment on the primary LEGO market and it was retired because it was a big white terd. LOL

On the internets, it seems the reaction is mostly positive, and see the reviews. I hope resellers not writing fake reviews these days... zskid00
My orders from TRU.com are out for delivery today. UPS usually doesn't stop by until towards the end of the day, but I'll be able to confirm if this is actually the AS or not that we all ordered. zskid00
They have arrived and it is indeed the AS. I can't answer specific questions as I'm not at home to check them out myself but the wife says there is a little bit of wear and creasing on some of the boxes, but I would be shocked if there wasn't coming from TRU. Time to sell before LEGO shop @ home gets them back in stock.
