My dad has a few acres of land and at night they spin their webs from all the trees on the property. You can see their beady little eyes twinkle when you shine a light on them. Doofy McGee Posted October 7, 2012 Share Posted October 7, 2012 Quite right, that is Shelob! Lol. Check out this picture. It is a mosquito hawk (crane fly) with mites hitchhiking on it! I didnt take this picture but I saw this in nature the other day, which spurred me to look into this.
