LowestFormOfWit Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 There's too much "diving" and excessive celebration in soccer. Hockey is rough, quick, and brutal. Nothing similar at all. Quote

comicblast Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Late to chime into this conversation, but I'm glad the Stanley Cup is back in Chicago. It probably doesn't have to do with the fact that I live in Chicago. Quote
LowestFormOfWit Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 My girlfriend and I were simply floored with Chicago's performance in the playoffs. We'll probably be following them in the next season more closely. Quote

Did you hear about Seguin going to Dallas? Personally, I think that was a bad move by the Bruins, with some older guys like Jagr who are probably going to retire in a couple years, they need him. The Hawks a really fun team to follow. A number of their 3rd and 4th line guys are gone (Roszeval, Handzus, Bolland, Frolik), so they'll be backfilling them with some prospects from Rockford (their minor league team). It will be interesting to see whether they will maintain the depth that was so key to this year's run to the Cup. Still haven't seen the cup around town, yet. I missed it when it was at the York Tavern with Quenneville, and yesterday it was at the Hinsdale's July 4th parade, also with Q (he lives in Hinsdale) - he was on top of a fire truck hoisting the cup thoughout the parade. Hopefully it'll find its way to me soon! Quote
