stackables Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Here is a greedo I came across. Are his arms cracking or is this just how the mold was for the fig? Quote
junkie Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 That is just the mold. I'll see if I can post some photos of cracked arms. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I don't see any possible cracking whatsoever. Just some mold lines. Honestly, your Greedo looks like it is in mint condition. Quote
stackables Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Thanks guys, thought the mold lines were what collectors were talking about when they mentioned cracked arms. Quote
StarCityBrickCompany Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Here is a greedo I came across. Are his arms cracking or is this just how the mold was for the fig?No those aren't cracks - but the Greedo minifig must be the most notorious of minifigs for having brittle arms with cracks. Also, they aren't the typical cracks either - they tend to be mid arm cracks (likely from production issues). Quote
junkie Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Dagobah Luke with arm and torso cracks and Greedo arm with cracks. I've bought and sold quite a few Greedo's, arm cracks are very common, but they are obviously cracks. Again, your photo is just the normal seams. You'll want to see more photos though. Quote

willy431 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 First picture is what we call knit lines in the molding industry. Other pictures look to show a tooling misalignment during automated arm-- insertion. Or it could be any defect in the process that could casue thin/brittle plastic--or even age--as plastic will eventually "dry out" and crack with age. Quote
LowestFormOfWit Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I should take this time to mention that LEGO's piece quality has been on the downward spin for a few years now. I have a growing piece graveyard. It seems the plastic is cheaper or less dense than they've used in the past. Quote
Blackjack Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Yeah, your's just has arm printing, which is relatively rare. Quote
