exciter1 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I don't have enough. I only have one. There is only so much money to spend and too many great sets out there! If I hit the lotto I would have a sick Lego room......or warehouse. My son already opened one, a long long time ago. I am not a super heroes expert but I feel like they are a dud and I want out If you get them at half-off, you'll be hard-pressed to sell at a loss once retired. If you are a flipper, good luck! Quote

zskid00 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Still an exclusive Lex (though not exciting) and classic Wonder Woman in 6862. LEGO did us all a dis-service by extending this one for a 3rd year when it would have been performing much better by now if it got a standard 2 year run. Quote
speedsausage Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Oh, interesting this thread popped up, I was messaging with a member last night about this exact set for Amazon.caIs it presumptuous to say that I'm a seller at $60? Are you actually making sales at $60us? Lowest price on Amazon.ca is $45cdn that saw. I may just have jump in this wagon sooner than expected. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I'll trade you my 6862's for your arctic batman's (anyone) response crickets chirping How many 6862s for a single Arctic Batman ? Quote
Flemdog33 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Started investing last June and this was one of my first collection sets. I was all over the map but a wise moderator once told me "buy batman sets". So I did. I see this doing really really well. Good figs and a really cool boat. Quote
trekgate502 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 How many 6862s for a single Arctic Batman ? meh 1 for 1 and you would be poorly advised to take me up on that offer! Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 meh 1 for 1 and you would be poorly advised to take me up on that offer! No deal. I was expecting at least 5 to 1 :D This would have been a superstar set had Aquaman not been included in the new wave Quote
Ciglione Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 All depends on the buy-in. I paid 20 euro each for mine. Not high not low. I really hope it reaches 60 something like 6866 wolverine once did. Please wake me up when it does. So I do not miss its finest hour like I did with 6866. 1 Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Anyone that took advantage of the Meijer $12 clearance on those should be doing some backflips 2 Quote
exciter1 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Anyone that took advantage of the Meijer $12 clearance on those should be doing some backflips They were at Amazon and Target for $13 a day or two, so that's not too shabby either. Quote
Dbroncoboy Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 They were at Amazon and Target for $13 a day or two, so that's not too shabby either. Yeah almost exactly a year ago if I remember correctly Quote

nolanfan34 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Good trend so far. Also great that the Arkham Asylum has a spot for Mr Freeze but doesn't come with the figure. Should also help this set in the long run. Quote
Ciglione Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 This set seems to climb now with the decline of sets available. Still not earth moving though. Maybe it was stocked-up too heavily? Quote
feed Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 It’s barely 6/7 months since retirement and in the UK it was easy to get at ~40% discount. Recent eBay sales look good to me. Quote

Ciglione Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 So what would be your expectation from a set that was marked retired on February 2015 ?My comment was not about expectations. It was just an analysis with a question at the end. Quote
Sozial Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 3rd party seller on AMZ germany is 44 Euro, I got mine for 16 Euro, so not that bad at all...I will look if it passes the 50€ mark easily, if not I try to sell them for 50€ :-) 1 Quote

If I am honest I had higher expectations for that set. Seems that to many people got the set in the hope of another 6866. I guess I will leave the Batman&Superman investing universe to you in the future.. Quote

I think you hit the nail on the head that there were a lot of people buying into this hoping for another 6866. Now that it hasn't popped like 6866, they're exiting and keeping the price down. Another good example is the Spider Cycle set. It was selling for around $38 in the US on Amazon earlier in the year, but fell to just over MSRP before x-mas. Quote
thoroakenfelder Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 The only 2 things going for this set were the Aquaman and the Mister Freeze. Aquaman is going to be in a Dimensions set soon enough DC Aquaman Fun Pack - LEGO Dimensions and Mister Freeze, no one actually cares about as a villain. I think this set got sent to the corner when the Dimensions pack was announced in all honesty. Easier, cheaper access to the one unique character? Quote

I picked up 8 copies at £5 each after discounts. With that kind of discounting and availability is was always going to be a long time before it topped retail and that was assuming the figs stayed exclusive. As for being another 6866, that was always over ambitious, Batman / Aquaman aren’t Deadpool / Wolverine. Quote
