gymant14 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I saw some 76000 Arctic Batman vs Mr Freeze sets today at my local Target that had the correct spelling of Arctic on the box. The original release had the word spelled incorrectly (Artic). Is there any reason why one version of the box will increase the value of one version over the other? Should I grab more of the mispelled version? Or the newly corrected version? Quote
Diabolos80 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Probably won't make a difference in America. Apparently most of us are illiterate. Ha! Quote
LowestFormOfWit Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Half of us in the states probably think Arctic is the incorrect version... To bring it back on topic, traitionally the box errors don't reallt affect pricing. These aren't coins, they're boxes. The product is the brick, not the box. Quote
Morgan8 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Hi guys and girls I'm new to this but as my first post I thought it bet to share some info about the latest batman sets when buying in the UK. Anyway I recently bought the Arctic batman vs freeze and aquaman set from Toys R Us online. I wanted it for a while and found that toys r us online had it for Quote
stuturners Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 They also the same deal in Sainsburys, free to collect! Quote
Gondorian Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I've bought about 12 of this set recently at that price. Very good investment, I think. I got 6 from Sainsbury's, 5 from Amazon and 1 from Argos. Batwing over Gotham has been Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Not a terrible deal assuming you use ****** and shop your way. Quote
spener90 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Set should be around for a while. I will wait. Did they fix the box yet? Quote
TheOrcKing Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Set should be around for a while. I will wait. Did they fix the box yet?Oh right, I forgot all about that spelling error on the box. I haven't actually come across it myself though or just can't remember if I have. Quote
akohns Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 This set comes up as "Loki" on the scanner at my kmart Quote

boxofcorey Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I don't think it's Artic Batman anymore. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Why would they write Flux Capacitor on an Batman box? If they did, I hope they did not accidently leave out the "L" in Flux. :mosking: 1 Quote
justapilgrim Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Buy some at full retail? Or wait for discounts? It's usually never in stock in stores just online Quote
terrymc4677 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 wait until black Friday/ cyber Monday. amazon and or target will probably have some solid deals like they did last year on the smallish super hero sets. I wouldn't buy any at full retail right now. Quote
justapilgrim Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Thanks, seems this smaller set is pretty popular w 3 solid minifigs and the cool ice piece Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) PM Amazon @ TRU and use GC if u get the chance. Edited September 20, 2014 by Bold-Arrow Quote
BrickStanley74 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Just wondered if anyone thinks whether the misspelt "Artic" sets will ultimately, after EOL, command a higher price/be more sought after than the correct "Arctic" ones. Thoughts? Quote
Flemdog33 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Anybody have thoughts as to how much longer they think this set will last? Been adding this whenever possible and now it's backordered at lego. Prob due to 2X points but EOL has to be near. Not carried in retail outlets anymore. Quote

Still in a lot of stores in the south, Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, Fry's, not at all of them but definitely available. Says "available now" on LEGO too but might of been temporarily out of stock , I don't check those often. Came out in 2013, don't remember exactly when so would think still have a ways. Quote

I'd guess around November time for rest of world, USA on the other hand could quite possibly keep it in production for another year like 6862 Superman Lex Armour. Quote
Flemdog33 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Thx for the reply. I built the set with my son and it's a really great build for a smaller set. The arctic sled is really awesome and I love the minifigs. Think it does well EOL and I will have a wall full. Quote

I have about 15-20 right now myself and I think it was heavily like by investors as a whole. Should still do well EOL. Quote

Thoughts? As a professional geographer, the misspelled version just drives me insane. I don't think anyone looking to build this is going to care. Only someone interested in a misprint type item.
