my friend James and I went to Toys R Us today.  He stopped us in our tracks and immediately when he saw a box with a note on it that said "Ask an employee about this item."  It was Lego set 10224 Lego Town Hall.  He had his kid in the cart and we almost got into multiple cart to cart accidents racing for an employee.  They had two of them.  We are both extremely happy.  They cost 250$ each btw, but after discounts mine was 194$ and his was 224$. (Rewards etc charge card, mine was open box discount also)

oh sorry... still too excited.  The Box was empty and had that sign on it.  I guess because it was 250$ they didn't want to put it on the shelves.

 

we brought the empty box to the employee, lol it was pretty funny... he then went in the back and produced a sealed box and the parts from the empty box.

Thank god I thought of bringing my little boy to that toys r us to get the free Lego x wing mini build today. That was the best score ever, I honestly almost had a heart attack. I don't post often but when I do, it's because unbelievable stuff happens. Time to crack open a beer and reflect on our come up for today. I don't know what else to do now. Weekend complete bro!

2x Raptor Rampage (included free 40145 LEGO store at the Cherry Hill store grand opening)-paid only tax after using VIP points

1x Indominus Rex (included free 40145 LEGO store at the Cherry Hill store grand opening)-paid MSRP+NJ tax, but used apple pay and discover it card so will get 22% cash back

1x Deep Sea Operations Base (included free 40145 LEGO store at the Cherry Hill store grand opening)-paid MSRP+NJ tax

1x Temple of Airjitzu (included free Enter the Serpent set)-paid $145 after using VIP points and no tax in Delaware, also used apple pay and discover it card so will get 22% cash back

1x Coruscant Police Gunship and 1x Snowman 40093 from TRU- paid $38.46 for both after 20%, $5 off $25, discounted gc and TRUTH discounts (also included a red arm c3po for free, would have tried for the anachondrai mech also but they said they were sold out of them)

 

I probably should have taken advantage of the no sales tax/apple pay+ discover it combo at the Delaware store, but it was a long day and I wanted to get home.

75105  - Flacon From TRU for $128.  Not sure how good a deal this was but they would not let me stack my $10 gift card on top of my $15 off $100 more purchase and my 10% off Saturday purchase.  I got the C3PO and double points too so I can live with it.  Trying to sell the 75105 to someone for $140 so if that works I come out ahead on this deal. 

Hate buying at TRU so I have never figured out the stacking rules work but I couldn't get it to work today so I just went with what I had. 

They would not let me buy C3PO as a stand alone so.  I think having a couple of these is good for the inventory.  Looked like they were running out so future options are limited.

Manager said they work but the 20% off dictates the 10$ giftcard one has to be entered as a coupon rather than a physical card. Her words were : "if they don't stack the register would refuse it ". Ymmv

I always scan % off first (following TRU rewards # and freebies, of course) for mathematically obvious reasons.

But this month I am runnning into store after store that can't get ANYTHING to stack (except TRUTH/TRUST 10% of course).

I specifically tried "just" 20% and $15 off $100 with the ISD, no go... 

Usually I do well at TRU but apparently I am no Jedi yet.

I got a 76031 (The hulk buster smash) from Kmart for 24.99.  I used $5.00 in points that I paid a dollar to buy yesterday so this actaually cost me 20.99.  I will have to check because I thought the advertised price was $23.99)  But along with this I also had a coupon from yesterday for $10 in free points if I spent $10 and I got to buy another $5.00 in points for a $1.00  so now my SYW points is worth $15.00.  Tomorrow I can buy something else and keep playing this game as long as they want to.  Figure if I can buy a $40 MSRP item on sale at 20% off and than use $15.00 in points I am buying for a $1 or getting as a reward than I am pulling sets at over 50% a day. 

Finally my local Kmart is actually getting new stock as well.  They had a box of Monster Minifigures and Jokerland.  But the find of the day yesterday was a Lego Minifigure package from the Lego Movie.  I paid $4.29 for it but since I had zero of them I figured I would add one.  IT was the western female robot if you were wondering.
