What Lego set did you buy today?

Recommended Posts

One of the best parts of this hobby... coming home and seeing a pile of boxes sitting at the front door and totally forgetting what's inside most of em. Its like christmas!

I'm sure most Canadians recognize the infamous black-wrapped item :\ luckily they don't have much damage.

Some JW to flip this holiday, Scooby-Doo for Halloween decor, bunch of pieces for the Bat-Pod (incl hero factory stuff), and i don't own Dimensions (nor do i really plan on getting it), but i really love Portal, and this little set is great even if it were just for the minifig.

Tonight a picked up a used complete w/ boxes lot with 10225 - UCS R2-D2, 9493 - X-Wing, & 9492 - Tie Fighter for $380 shipped on EBay.  Looks like a real nice lot and well kept by a collector.  This way I won't be torn about opening my personal copies and I can offload them and cover most of the cost with profit.

UPDATE: I'm semi-not happy with this purchase.  They arrived reeking of cigarette smoke.  I contacted the seller and we'll see where it goes from here.  I'm really tempted to return them.  I sent back a Tower of Orthanc not too long ago for this very reason.

Found some more of the Hero Factory sets with Bat-Pod parts. They had some of the smaller ones with 2 parts, but not enough to make another set of 6. And the Hasbro MF for potential holiday flip (or keep myself :3)

There's another set with the Bat-Pod parts? Which one is it? (besides 44027 that is).

Today I ordered the Sea Cow for a friend who asked me to buy it for him and I took advantage of the buy and got 4 Tumbler tires and the rimes.

In the last weeks I found a lone Unicorn Girl when I went to my local TRU to order a case of Series 14 (going to pick it up this weekend, let's see if they kept their promise and didn't opened it), a 75078 Imperial Troop Transport and a 75079 Shadow Troopers, at 5-10€ for both, can't remember exactly.

Here are the others: http://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-4623002

Mind you the colour is slightly different from the Bat-Pod i believe. "Pearl dark gray" Vs. Black in the bat-pod. I think 6 black ones will be next to impossible to acquire at a decent price though.

Thank you! I dnd't know brickset had this feature of matching piece with the set. This weekend I'm going to hunt some Hero Factory, I remember seeing some forgotten ones in the supermarket.

I wanted to load up on Thanksgiving Feast, so I ordered 5 (max) from shop at home. To get to free shipping, I added 3 of the birthday cake table toppers, that say they'll ship Nov 15th (wow). I only get charged for the Thanksgiving sets now since they'll ship ASAP, and score free shipping. I love the birthday sets, if they do ship, I'll gladly take them in a month and 1/2 from now. Seems like this is a good way to tip your cart into the free shipping realm, without having to spend it all out of pocket (that is if you like the birthday set like me).

As a side, this seems like a really expensive way for LEGO Shop at Home to do business. They have to split my order in half, deal with two orders that both ship free, and pack and ship two difference parcels at different times. Just seems like a silly business practice (and an expensive way to deal with out of stock items).....I'm waiting for the 13th to buy anything else, I want my train!

Another UA Ocean HQ at TRU.  After selling the Bricktober set I'm approaching 50% off for this one.  The stores around here only have 1 or 2 left in stock but I noticed there are still over 600 of these on TRU.com.  Hopefully those sell out before the holidays but I'm not so sure.

given their high free shipping threshold and the fact that they are basically selling "factory direct", thing like this to maximize customer satisfaction are a easy write off.  Now shipping out free promos, when the sets are oos and may not ship at all, well thats just kinda foolish.  though i suspect it is fall out for the shipping system not knowing the difference between a legit ordered item and a free gift.
