Alpinemaps Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Just score 2 wall-e at local legoland for 50.00 each plus 5%off for vip. They mislabel as 50.00 and all wall-e sets but the register ring up as 60.00. Manager had to override it. Don't know how long it'll take for them to realize the actual price.. They also had 1 Death Star, 1 TOo.,1 SOH, 1 PC, and 2 PS. Legoland Discover Center, or a Legoland Theme Park?I found monster minifigures at Walmart on clearance for $1.00 apiece. 51 all together. First one I opened was Tiger Lady ! Nicely done. If I came across that, I'd scoop them all up myself.MIXELS!!! Lego Store in Jakarta had Mixels Series 2 discounted...under 2.00 USD each. SrQueimado Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Today I get my first LEGO to invest, I bought one VW T1 Camper Van from the LEGO Shop for 99,99€ and got the Kai Drifter too.Maybe I should tried to buy it at a lower price but this one was the best, I live in an island and the shipping are a bit expensive and doesn't compensate, I got the 99 points too, which is cool for the next LEGO Shop buyings. What do you think guys? 1 Quote

Jondog21 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I went a little crazy over the past couple of hours on AWD. I bought a Tower Bridge, Ewok Village, Slave 1 and Red 5. I already have a copy of each of the 3 Star Wars sets in sealed boxes, so I'll use these for personal builds and won't have to feel guilty for opening them. I never had much interest in Tower Bridge, but knowing myself, the second it is no longer available, I'll decide I want one. It happened with Arkham Asylum and R2 last year, and while I did get both for a smidge over retail, I want to avoid doing that to myself again. I'll be happy when these are delivered Saturday, but not as happy when my Amazon Card bill comes 6 Quote

My poison was eBay, with essentially 10% off everything (5x eBay bucks on purchases over $50) plus another 2 to 4% off from Raise. 1) Town Hall for $314 (no box or instructions, missing 2 minifigures, otherwise complete). 2) Arkham Asylum for $179 (open box, mostly sealed bags, compete with instructions) 3) X-wing 9493 for $52 (sealed box) I'm pretty happy about it - TH and AA have been on my want list since I arrived late to the party earlier this year. 3 Quote

Plus it has that marker mark that lets you know that while they are largely disinterested or unable to stop real criminals stealing, they will go ahead and imply that their paying customers are thieves by attempting to review what they paid real money for. Guest Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I bought a $205 TRU gc from ebay for $185 using ebay gc that i paid 151.61 for making my $205 TRU gc 26.04% off. I also earned $18 in ebay bucks making the purchase. TRU gc will be stacked with rewards and 10% CC discount. Hopefully I will be able to get TRU sets under msrp using all that, lol Quote
justapilgrim Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Didn't buy it, but found some 16x32 white baseplates while sorting bulk lego. Now to decide to keep for winter sets, or sell. Quote

mfortunek Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) I see that alot of people do this, can someone lead a noob through the processThis is just one way to do it. I am sure others have even better systems. Mine is pretty simple and good enough for me:Step 1: start somewhere. I have my best rewards credit card (for me that is Chase Sapphire, but I'm sure a lot of people use Toys R Us Rewards mastercard, Target Red Card, etc) linked to my Raise account. Step 2: Buy discounted gift cards with Raise (I like their app). I buy Target at 10% or above, TRU/BRU at 12% or above, Lego at 5% or above, eBay at 5% or above, and some others.Step 3: Wait for a deal to convert what you purchase on Raise to something even better. For example, what MarxMarvelous did was go on eBay and buy a TRU gift card on eBay for less than face value (this is always a good move, depending on the discount). He used his eBay gift card (acquired previously elsewhere at a discount) to pay for his eBay purchase (the TRU gift card he won at auction). In addition, with the 5x eBay bucks promo (ending in 13 hours) he got another 10% off the price of his TRU gift card in the form of eBay bucks he can used next month. Then he is going to use the TRUTH coupons (look in the TRUTH tactics thread for barcodes) and walk into a TRU on a Thursday (Saturday starting soon) and buy something for a massive aggregate discount after factoring in all of the above. Let's say he got his eBay gift card (to start with) at 18% off. Then another 10% difference between the face value of the TRU card he bought on eBay and the price he won it for at auction. Then another 10% in eBay bucks. Then he is going to use a 20% off one item coupon (see TRUTH tactics thread) at the checkout aisle at TRU, then he is going to get 10% more off if he has a TRU Rewards mastercard and can convince the cashier to let him do a partial pay wherein he puts a little bit on the mastercard and pays for the majority of the purchase with the TRU gift card he won from eBay.AND, what's more he will earn TRU rewards points at 4% for amount not put on TRU mastercard and 8% for amount put on mastercard. When he is done, the price of that $150 Millennium Falcon just got slashed to a total acquisition cost of about $80, give or take.Another thing that you can do is convert one gift card to another. For example, you can commonly buy Target gift cards on Raise for 6% off or better. eBay gift cards run, on average, only 2-3% discount. So I buy a Target gift card and then go to Target.com and use my Target gift card to purchase eBay gift cards, effectively giving me a much better acquisition cost for my eBay gift cards. Which I will then use during an extra eBay bucks promo to buy a discounted Toys R Us (or similar) gift card on the eBay site from some nice lady in Boca Raton. This is a dizzying process, but if you like math, it can get to be a lot of fun.
