What Lego set did you buy today?

Recommended Posts

Wow that is epic!  One time build or are there any more available for people who want to jump on that band wagon like me?

Nah its a one off i'm afraid. The guy who built it is Kevin Cooper. You can search him on google and check his other stuff :)

I got a custom basement for the haunted house from him earlier in the year, and will post pics soon. It was 90% complete and I haven't got round to finishing it yet

Totally random and lucky.  Scored my first Craigslist deal today.  Craziness to get it too.

Glanced at the BrickPicker Craigslist tool during a meeting, saw the ad, texted, said they still had it, stayed in meeting for 2.5 more hours thinking I was going to get ninja'd.  Told the guy I couldn't make it until later in the evening, since my son had baseball practice.  Baseball practice ran long, of course it was 2.5 hrs, ended at 8:30, drove home, dropped him off, drove 45 minutes.  I texted throughout practice, kind of letting him know what was going on, but didn't get to meet him until 9:30pm.  Nice guy and understanding.

10188 Death Star (complete w/ all minifigures pictured)  I might be missing a Royal Guard, not sure yet.  I also saw the interrogation droid while sorting through.

10195 - Republic Dropship w/ AT-OT Walker (complete w/ minifigures)

7646 - Mars Mission: ETX Alien Infiltrator

All for $300

wow, great deal

Whats up with city motors?

In my area the airport fire truck has disappeared. I am "gambling" this will be a great seller coming Xmas. Short life, uniqueness and awesomnes will make this a winner in my book.

There is nothing wrong with investing in City. Just you have to choose the right ones. Hopefully I did.

Nothing wrong at all, selling City vehicles can be lucrative.  Just sold a 60016 - City Tanker for $50 - purchase price $6.

Purchased 1/3 full 64 quart bin from Goodwill today for $50.

Friends Summer Caravan

Friends City Pool

Alien Conquest Mothership & another Alien Conquest I can't yet figure out.

Quinjet

Mobile Police 7288 & a couple other police vehicles

Harry Potter Castle 4842

Looks like I am going to be missing some pieces, minifigures and instructions but for $50 this is some great family fun. Can't wait to build the castle, probably will order pieces to complete if needed then sell locally.

Also found a Mindstorms Vision command for $2 but can't find a use for it so I left it for someone else.

Got a Brick Bounty for $63 today at Toys R Us.

Went to pay for a City Advent Calendar. When the computer wouldn't let them sell it to me, she offered me an additional 20% off anything on top of any coupons and TRUTH.

$70 BBs don't happen in SoCal so I'll take $63. Figured it'd be tough to get it at that price again.

Everyone remember this set I bought of off Goodwill couple weeks back?  A couple of you ask how it went.  It finally arrived today.

35 lbs of Lego bulk for $225 from Goodwill.  Bonus points if you can tell me why, based on this photo, I was so anxious to get this lot.  (California 92563 is ineligible to give a reason).

Best of luck, but without seeing any other medium or dark blue pieces(maybe in other pictures) I would say that plate is an "attention getter" piece to make buyers think something valuable is in there.  It's just placed too neatly on top for me.  I hope it works out, but I've been burned by those crooks and won't ever buy from SGW again.

Oh, Huskers...you may be more right than you know.

So, guess what happened?  They sent the wrong order.

Here's my auction (35 lbs)

And here an auction for 31 lbs that ended at the exact same time.

If you look over the bid history, you can see the guy who won the 31 lbs bid on my auction, too.  He may be well aware what might be in my lot.  So, now it's a waiting game.  What will Goodwill say?  (I fired off an email tonight).  Will the other guy realize the mistake, and be honest, and do a swap (at their cost, of course)?  Or, will he conveniently be quiet on the subject?

I've got to admit the lot he got is pretty darn good.  I sorted through it tonight (with some help from California92563) - next time I'm live streaming it on Periscope for all of you.  We found a few Indiana Jones sets, Egypt, old Adventurers, Mars Mission, Alpha Team, 90s Underwater, old Harry Potter.  It's definitely a "win" of a lot!  Fantastic deal for $111 for 31 lbs of bulk.

I'll keep everyone updated...
