What Lego set did you buy today?

Recommended Posts

Craigslist deal:

6211 - Imperial Star Destroyer; 100% complete, all minifigs, both manuals in good condition
7662 - Trade Federation MTT; 100% complete, all minifigs and manuals in good condition, in original box (which is also in good condition)

Guy selling it felt bad he didn't have the box for the ISD, so included:

7654 - Droid Battle Pack
7655 - Clone Trooper Battle Pack
(both sets in ziplocs with original manuals, 100% complete with all minifigures)
2 loose assassin droids with weapons.

I kinda felt bad only handing him his asking price of $110.

Kinda.

Best lunch hour ever.. Got a GE, FB, f1 Ferrari, 4x4 extreme off-roader, mind storms nxt 2.0, and a few smaller technic vehicles like an incomplete 8263. All used lot- for $120 There was an estate sale near my job, and although I thought everything worth buying would be gone in the first 10 minutes/ to my surprise this stuff was still there. Now I always read posts like this with a little jealousy, since I am rarely this lucky, but it also is cool to find out what others are encountering out there- so this was my little story. All the sets were already built so this should be a relatively easy flip.

That's awesome. Some of the best deals that I have found were at estate sales.

I went to the Target in the middle of San Francisco, lured by TLM Metalbeard's duel clearance.

There were no TLM stuff at all and some of the very limited selection were really overpriced.  But they had more than five cases of series 12 minifigs at $3.99 which dried up more than six months ago

at Targets around the suburbs near SF. Got 12 bags, hoping to get the emo girl figure.   Should I go back to get more?   Oh  the parking cost $3.50.

If you have the time and are so included, learn to smoosh (the technique for figuring out what minifigure comes in each bag), and try to grab the Spooky Girl (Emo Girl) and the Piggy Guy.  They're pretty easy to find, actually, and are going for $8-$12 on eBay right now.

A quick check on eBay will tell you if any of the other figures are going for anything right now.

Thanks for the tip- I didn't want to spend too much time smooshing- parking in downtown San Francisco is a nightmare and if it's after 3PM, the traffic fight to leave the city alive is horrendous.  I should go back right?  the number of pristine, unsmooshed series 12 pouches there blew me away

I keep seeing the gold pouches dancing in my mind's eye.

I didn't buy that today but I just received my last order from LEGO Shop at Home EU sale (June 24):

(2) 79018 Lonely Mountain for 87.09 € each (90.99 - 3.90 cashback). Btw seal codes are 05S5.

Woohoo, I already wrote them off, what a nice surprise! :)

Found a couple Ultra Agents Mission HQ sets and Ultracopter vs. Anti-Matter for $55.98 and $39.18 respectively after the cartwheel 20% off. Also got the Battle of The Five Armies for $33.58  and Drillex Diamond Job for $16.78 after cartwheel coupon.

Well, from what I see, Spooky Girls are selling for $7-9 shipped...which, after fees/tax/shipping (assuming First Class Package), would put you in the negatives to very slim profit.  But the price should hopefully go up before Halloween/Christmas.  I have over 3 dozen now, but stopped smooshing minifigs to try to focus more on large sets.

Yesterday:  Ordered (3) 75920 Raptor Escape sets online for pickup.

Went to pick up the three sets and found 4 more on the shelves...that Wal-Mart is now OOS.

Only 4 Wal-Mart locations with remaining inventory left in the immediate St. Louis area.

(19) collected so far.  12 from Lego LEGO Shop at Home.
