What Lego set did you buy today?

Recommended Posts

How much did you spend on gas, tolls, fast food stops, etc...

If this was to me not sure how its relevant when I do this for fun and don't really care about those things but to answer the question this Meijer is on the road I take home from work so needed to add in a right turn, park and a rignt turn back out.

You have chomper on the brain.

Oy vey.  Ice Mammoth Stomper not Chomper.

Found an Olivia's House 3315 on the shelf at Walmart. Probably a return. $40.

It sounds right. I'll weigh it tonight. One set of seals looks suspect. I'll crack it open if I have to.

I have to admit, I did weigh the Lonely Mountains I picked up last weekend, just in case.

I bought a large bin of 80s Lego on CL for ~$80(US)

I have identified the following sets:

6392 Airport

5180 Runway Base Plates (T and Cross)

7710 - Push along passenger steam train

7735 - DB Freight Train

7856 - Left and right 12v switches

7857 - 12v Crossing track

7863 - 12v Remote Control

7864 - 12v Transformer

7865 - 12v motor

7867 - 12v Lighting standards

4005 - Tugboat

I am still looking through the rest for 7866 and there are about 5-10 other smaller sets.  These are in good-excellent condition and should be complete and will keep me busy for the next month.

My bad. I thought that purchase was part of your regular 3-12 hour road trips that we all are following. That's way I asked.

How many did you buy per visit? Did you leave the store and came back or did you just went back and get more and checked out with them seeing you doing it again?

I bought 5 and 7 a couple different trips. But one purchase was only about an hour apart and to the same cashier. I asked him if it was alright if I bought more since I had just bought 5 an hour earlier. He said. "I don't care how many you buy". I was tempted to go back and clear the shelf but I resisted. My kids each bought 2 to flip and my neighbor kid just bought 2 Empire State buildings after I told him they were discontinued. I'm creating little monsters. I also informed my neighbor kid on Friday to buy 5 of the Easter sets for a quick flip (he doesn't have much money since he's only 12). Then on Saturday they went OOS and are now selling for $20 on eBay. He ignored my advice. "Wax on...wax off...Danielson."

2 x Technic 42021 Snowmobile - I came across them at Target, still at $13.98 Clearance price. For some reason I thought, might as well... ended up ringing up at $9.98 each. Nice.

1 x 79118 TMNT "Karai Bike Escape" $3

That was at a a second Target, I saw a "Battle at Ninjago City" at $59.98 and some Mixel at $4.98... rang them up and price was accurate ignored them. But, there was a 79118 TMNT "Karai Bike Escape" listed at $11.04" - but scanned at $6.48. As luck would have it, they had a promotion for a $5 Target GC if you spend $20 in cosmetic/personal care so grabbed some bath stuff for the fiancee and some shower gel.

End result, $3 cash after GC.

Received my Slave 1 from TRU in great shape, thankfully.

Did pick-up 3 PEE sets and a Hulk Buster to build tomorrow.

From Meijer:

1 x Lonely Mountain

2 x White House

3 x Attack on Lake-Town

1 x City: Auto Transporter

I'm thinking the clearance sets were cleaned out yesterday.  Although, in Columbus it seemed the Mammoth Stomper pretty much disappeared during the 25% off LEGO clearance.

Took me a few moments to work out that "PEE" was "Painting Easter Eggs" not a hitherto unknown to me minifig urinal set that would go well with the 31031 (pooping) Parrot and the 70811 Flying Flusher....

I would definitely buy a minifig-scale toilet set.

I don't think I have seen anywhere in this area the Mammoth Stomper at a reduced price, at least that I can think of.

that mammoth has been driving me crazy this week.  Can't make my mind up on it.  Saw 8 at $40 and only bought 2.  If I had more half off sets from this Chima wave I would of bought more just can't get the fortress at a good price.

I'd probably grab a couple more Mammoths at $40, just because.  We have one, that my Son has battles with.  I do have a couple extra Flying Phoenix, but I'm watching some Wal-Marts nearby that have them stocked heavy, but still marked $89.

Wow! So jealous. I'm really wanting one to buy so I'd have been all over that.

Just keep checking the usual sites. It seems people love the set itself but the minifigs aren't aging well when the newer more detailed refreshes or kids are older now (in the dark ages) so selling this is easy money. Thus, sometimes people just unload them for a good deal .

This is the second 10188 I found for under $290 in 3 weeks. The $290 one was loose w/o box & missing 2 minifigs I already own. This one was $15 cheaper but the bags are sealed (we'll see when it arrives).

I'm taking a week off Lego buying. If you see me posting purchases this week, shoo me away.

Here's a tally of what I bought last week and from where:

2 Mos Eisley Cantina - Target.com

4 PEE (2 sold so far), 3 Pirates Chess, 1 Elsa Castle - LEGO Shop at Home & Lego Store

2 Valentines Dinner (both sold), 2 628 grey baseplate - Ross

3 MC Cave, 1 MC Farm - kmart.com

4 10695 Classic Brick Box (1 sold so far) - Walmart

2 Spooky Girl, 2 Unicorn Girl  (3 of 4 sold) - TRU

I'm satisfied with all these purchases, but I need to sell those 10695 and at least 1 Pirate Chess this week to feel like I'm managing my shopping addiction.
