Amazon gives you a $50 gift card if you apply for their credit card so I pulled the trigger today. I used it to get a 10228 Haunted House for about $137.00 if you count the 3% cashback.

No, I began buying these in early 2013.  So some of these "exclusives" were bought during the famous May 30, 2013 amazon sale :)

BTW, I finally managed to buy my FIRST batch of GE 10211s today from lego.com.  Yay.  I do believe this set will be like the Fire Brigade so it will be around until Nov or so but didn't want to take a chances.

Did you have any of these yet, or are these your first?

1 10226 Sopwith Camel. My target is 10.

1 10220 VW T1 Van. My target is 15.

2 Haunted Mansions. My target is 10.

Over the holiday weekend I hit one TRU in another state.  Found 3 Chi Temples and 4 Train Stations all 50% off.

Late last week picked up the Chima combo pack from TRU for $33+tax, Yesterday at Target picked up 20 Forest Ambush $6/ea (50% off), 3 GS $84+tax each (going back), and 4 Gold Getaway sets (50% off) out of the castle theme.

Today:

At another target I picked up 3 more Chi Temples $60/ and 2 Dragon Mountain sets $25/ (castle theme) all 50% off.

Booyah!

The only thing I am not happy with were the GS after taxes they were $91 and change...I have already bought some cheaper.

They will be going back.

I plan to put together some lots/packages of castle set for this upcoming holiday.

I think I have about 40 forest ambush sets with an ave price of 7.50.  Not bad consider 4 minifigs are in each set.

I put in a bid for that used complete Grand Carousal with box that sold for $1,325 earlier today. No, I wouldn't allow myself to win that auction. I really want that set.

Don't waste your time.  Now that I've owned one (and sold it) I was underwhelmed.  The brick-built horses and mirror stickers look dumb.

That and Diagon Alley did not live up to my expectations before owning them.

What? It's been out of stock on the Lego store for a few weeks now. How did you manage to get one into your cart?

I pulled the trigger and just bought the Grand Emporium from Lego.  I am so stoked!!  I was only able to buy one.  I wanted to buy two but I can't afford it right now.  I know it will sell out again when I get some more cash.  I have to be patient.

Very wise move on buying what you can afford!

Thank you....it was hard but I don't want to screw myself financially.  I know it will sell out again but hopefully I'll have some more cash before it disappears.  I want to at least have two.  When I read people have 10 put away my brain explodes.

Grand emporium. Ship date of 7/20 at shop at home. Used $25 worth of VIP points to get it down to $131 after tax. Got a free shredder too.

I was able to use $5 worth of VIP points.  It came out to $158 after tax.  Not too bad I guess.  Love that I got a free Shredder.

Seems reasonable to me. If you were to own a stock you should probably have at least $2-3,000 worth in it, while 10 of these would only run you about half that. I invest in stocks as well but it has nothing on Lego in terms of predictability and quick returns (most sets double within 2 years of EOL), plus there's very little downside if you know when to buy. Whereas conservative stock investing takes 7 years to double and you sure can't return the stock for what you paid for it within 90 days if the price drops.

Bought the Maersk Triple-E (my wife likes it alot and thinks it will be a great investment) at lego just before midnight. So I got another spaceman set and the chima polycrap.

Are you going to ask her to lick all the stickers, like George did with Susan?
