Huskers1236
Finally the only LEGO store in Hungary issued a 50% clearance (extremely rare here). I noticed on their FB page 30 minutes after they put it up. I immediately phoned in (I am friends with one of their employees) to put away 1 from each LotR/Hobbit set since I am reluctant to pay full price for non-exclusives. Well, they were gone. A guy went in and spent 2000$ worth of money to buy them all. Lucky for him. I bought a Guggenheim, Burj Khalifa and christmas tree poly for my WV. Apparently Lego stores don't worry about resellers in Hungary. $2k at 50% off is a pretty good haul in one stop.
inversion
Apparently Lego stores don't worry about resellers in Hungary. $2k at 50% off is a pretty good haul in one stop. Apparently there is a law here that unless it incurs extra costs or significant time delay you can not refuse serving customers or place limits in non-online stores. If it is on the shelf, you can buy as much as you want to. Although it is possible to ban reselling products, but you have to prove that somebody is a reseller. Which means you have to spot him selling on ebay without a license or catching him selling the exact same products you sold him. In other words, you can go in and buy 300 copies of the same set and say that they are for donations/gifts/army building etc. As long as they can't catch you selling, you are not a reseller. Doesn't matter that 99% of people who buy more than from the same set are resellers. Law is law.
brickelements
In for (6) 6860 BatCaves at $52 each. Probably not the best price ever, but I have zero in my inventory. This will mark the first DC Superheroes set in my collection.
naf
Bought another GE at the Lego Store before 2xVIP ends. I normally order online to save on gas and hassle, but they aren't shipping out for 30 days and i want my points now to use on 5/4. It just looks incredible from the box, which is a work of art itself. The best part about the box is it has the extra "flap" that shows more artwork of the set. I miss the days when sets came with that second front cover that lifted to reveal some of the best aspects of the set in nifty blister packs behind a transparent plastic cover. I still have the box for my BSB. Lego boxes were so much cooler back then. It was a lot of fun as a kid to go to the toy store and open up the flaps to see all the cool parts the set offered. mullm
Bought a 10211 GE today from my local LEGO Store.
MarleyMoose
I didn't buy it but I found a 97% complete 8825 Night Chopper at the free shop at the dump. I always check it out and have found many loose Lego pieces over the years. People are always giving away toys that they could easily sell. I have lots of Matchbox/Hotwheels. Some gems worth $5+. Can be easy money.
LegoDayd
Got a few Dolphin Cruisers last night for pick up at a semi close Kmart omw to work. They had 4 left, wish they had more at basically $28 each. I took a quick scan of the isles there, they had barely anything left in clearance but I did find one Lion Chi Temple which had a return receipt on it. I checked all the seals and they looked very solid and untampered. I price scanned it and it came up $35 which was weird cause it was marked $108 on the clearance sticker, shoulda been $54. Anyhow Kmart loves to give away things so I finally got my first Chima set for basically free with the 20% back in points plus I had a coupon for $10 off $50. I bought some easter candy for my work break room to fill up the gap.

redghostx
Ordered another GE; this time from the LEGO Shop at Home affiliate link. It doesn't matter when I receive it but it was the last chance for double vip and every extra set helps. Bring on May 4th! Ex astris, scientia. nolanfan34
1 - Batman Riddler's Chase 2 - Man-Bat Attack 1 - Batman Penguin set $40 from Kmart after some stacking. I know these will be out for a while, but happy to stash them away...
brickelements
Put in an offer for (6) 9474 HD factory sealed sets for 720.00 shipped. Doubt I will get it, but you never know. For those who bought these on discount for as little as $85/set it is not a bad markup. A bonus for me at below market prices.
Guest davewager78
1 x GE. Last day Lego store purchase, after wiping out a lot of the UK of 50% off Hobbit & LotR in the past week or so. I used existing VIP points on the GE, so technically i didn't pay for MRSP, right?

I used existing VIP points on the GE, so technically i didn't pay for MRSP, right? Nice purchase on the GE. But I think it's better to pay full price and get more vip pts being the last day of 2x vip pts on purchase amount...use the bonus pts tomorrow or in May. I believe you get your points when you are actually charged the amount, which is after things are shipped. For the GE this currently looks past May 4th. But I am sure those points will easily find another target.

Guest TabbyBoy
An appropriate amont of Pet Shops to fill up space left by offloading crap CITY sets. I don't know why but, my gut says this EOLs before GE. Since this is the only modular that splits in two, this may do very well. I already have enough GEs. BrickLegacy
I took Ed's advice and bought some exclusives that were nearing retirement. I figured why gamble on them being there for the next 2x VIP event in the Fall? If they are, I'll just buy a few more.
inversion
I am lucky in the sense that investors only appear if price has already risen by a considerable amount or there is a huge sale. FB-s were sitting on the shelf for 2 months while it was out of stock in other countries. Well, I am unlucky in the sense of 27% VAT (seriously, world record). At least I don't have to hurry if things go EOL. You could just casually waltz in and buy the Curiosity...
