justgod
Bought 2 of Architecture Brandenburg Gate from Target (to get the Red Card discount) at 34% off RRP. I figure even if they don't go up, I can always part them out. Sand green and tan parts more than cover cost of the set.

nolanfan34
Found my first deal today I was really excited about, as I'm new to the clearance shopping game. :-) Was inspired by the threads on here, so hit up a WalMart yesterday that I normally wouldn't shop at. Sure enough, in the clearance section they had a pallet of stuff that included like 7 sets - Falcon, Vampyre Castle, Jabba's Palace, Malevolence, etc. A worker said he didn't know the prices - they were still setting up the area - but they wouldn't be "huge deals". Went back today, and found them all - $80. I ended up snagging: - 1 Millenium Falcon - 1 Vampyre Castle - 1 Malevolence - 1 Jabba's Palace Passed on a Jabba's with a retaped side, a Malevolence with a pretty damaged box, and a Sith Interceptor which of course isn't great at that price. The boxes I got aren't mint, but are pretty good overall so I'm happy at that price! I don't have a big buying budget, but was happy to snag these. Did not plan on buying a 2nd Falcon, or the Malevolence. But my wife's cousin had the Malevolence built which I saw last weekend, and was pretty cool - a big ship, kind of a mini UCS. And of course now I won't feel guilty when I cave and open one of the Falcon's I have eventually. :-) They had 3 Quinjet's marked down to $60 - I'll be checking back, as I'm sure they won't sell and will probably be in the $40 section soon... Orodes
Technic Jet Plane and Excavator for my personal collection. Can't understand why it doesn't have the name of the set or the piece count on the box in the UK lol.
Huskers1236
Picked up from Amazon: Jabba's Palace $99 Desert Skiff $17 Bag End $62 Signed up for the rewards card for $50 discount and everything came to $130 w/ free shipping, no tax. Love me some Amazon. These will all be put away since I have opened my existing Palace and Bag End, and now won't feel bad about opening the Skiff that I have. Huskers1236
Can someone let me in on the bag end joke? Its way over my head..... Bag End is the name of the house in the movie Lord of the Rings, and I'm sure The Hobbit, though I have not seen it. It's just easier than saying I bought An Unexpected Journey. EDIT: Sun Devils suck Stephen, GO UofA!!!
stephen_rockefeller
Ah OK that makes sense....Im not into those movies so good to know. UofA isn't half the party school that we are/always will be! I have some friends that went there. I thought about going there before I decided on ASU but Tucson is too dirty for me lol

Everything else you said is very true about the 2 however.
Ed Mack
I just bought another 10197 Fire Brigade. Buying these Modulars for $119 with FREE SHIPPING and NO TAX from Amazon just never gets old. Great value in this set. I packaged the Fire Brigade together with an Epic Dragon Battle and the Fire Brigade dwarfs the Ninjago set. I thought I was done buying this set, but I can still see myself buying a couple of more.

Legodog
Would you please tell me how to do the NO TAX buying the Fire Brigade???? You have to live in a state where Amazon does not charge taxes. If you do then no taxes are applied when you check out. If you really don't want to pay taxes then signup for a red card from Target. You get 5% off any purchase online or in store. That usually covers "most" of the taxes in most states.
Ed Mack
Would you please tell me how to do the NO TAX buying the Fire Brigade????Interstate Commerce Law...Basically, if you buy from a retailer that does not have a brick and mortar store in your state, tax does not apply. Amazon does not have a warehouse in NJ, so I don't pay tax. That will change in July when the new Amazon warehouse in central NJ is complete.
