I then started to research and it looked legit, but I was still skeptical. Then the Cafe Corner and Market Street appeared so I grabbed them as well. The seller's listing practices were consistent with older listings, and feedback from sales within the week, so I figured no active seller wouldn't notice if their account was compromised in a timely manner. But still I was skeptical. Things sat for two days, then I randomly received a combined shipping refund from the seller yesterday and feedback. They just arrived. I scanned all the bags and all the pieces say "LEGO". Still surprised they showed up. They will sit in a 3 day quarantine in the garage then they will be inventoried and flipped.
$20 on joe vs dan
Mega Construx He-Man Greyskull castle...$169 at Target shipped to store (which was a good call as it was still in its Outer Shipping Box). Soldout on Amazon at RRP; Target still has. ...I think I mentioned I was getting one awhile back...well I ended up canceling that order...felt like it was too much at the time. Anyway I ran across an article on it on Stonewars site discussing the Amazon "sale" ($169) and there was quite a bit of fandom even on an European website. got me thinking and ofcourse once I saw that Amazon US was soldout I quickly checked Target....for some reason I have this fantasy of displaying prominent built castles on the top shelf four corners of my "Lego room"...so far I have the big Hogwarts, big Disney Castle, BL Lowenstein Castle (sp?)...and now Castle Greyskull 😁...quite the mix eh? (Greyskull booted Apocalapseburg (sp?)...for now it's still a pipe dream as I have the sets but my backlog and greed may ultimate foil the plan. coelian
Saw a bunch of 75262 Imperial Dropships at a supermarket, rang up at 14eur a piece so I took the lot. At worst I'll keep the stormies and sell the rest.

I agree that now is not the time to buy. FOMO is running rampant and I don't see a long-term stimulant for some of these high-flying stocks -- those aided by covid will probably revert to pre-covid sales after the pandemic so why would their valuation remain 50 to 100% higher than pre-covid prices in some cases (I'm looking at you, AMZN)? I took most of my profits in May/June and threw them into boosting my LEGO inventory -- ironic given the brokerage accounts were loaded up with LEGO sales from the Christmas season. Who knows, might be shifting back again if the market corrects this fall when LEGO sales pick back up for the holidays. I went ahead and ordered a few 31097's from Costco just now to justify posting here I bought a service station, 2 shrimp shacks and 2 shrimp boats from the walton's at 20% off... Question, why did you stop and then start writing covered calls? (always wondering if there is something i don't see) 2nd question, how many of you all also write covered calls? (always wondering what other hustlers are hustling after)

(always wondering if there is something i don't see) If I think the stocks are going to go up more than the premium, then I’ll just buy and hold. So I sold most of my stocks in February and sat on the cash. Then bought stocks in March. Sold in May. Bought a few back on the correction and started writing the calls since it looks like they are starting to level off. I had also bought some puts in March for a few weeks that paid off. At this point I’m not heavily invested. I took a lot of cash out to pay off my recent LEGO acquisitions. The couple of stocks I still have left are getting the covered call treatment. Both I’ve been invested in for multiple years so I’m pretty comfortable with them. I’ve actually missed out on some big gains on one of them because I had covered calls on it and they had some earnings that popped the stock 50% and the price never look back. jeanninesaran
Today I purchased 2 sets from the Hidden Side series. The Paranormal Intercept Bus for $30 and the Graveyard Mystery set for $15...not bad for my first Lego purchase!

Furious_george
Bought a Disney Castle from LEGO Shop at Home with the Gingerbread house promo , double VIPs and free express shipping. Might be a long hold, as some of the US architecture sets take along time to appreciate in UK compared to USA. They do eventually get to 2/3 x rrp, but if buying at rrp, will take a while and some are slow sellers if selling on ebay.

This set was cursed from the beginning and had limited availability. There's tons of corporate monet that will be willing to buy hundreds of these sets and not think twice. I think I only have less than 50 of this set but I'm hopeful to snag a couple hundred in February after LEGO does it's final run but it's doubtful.😭😭😭

MasamuneHonjo
I finally decided to purchase set 76144, it was on sale from £54.99 down to £36.50 and I thought, why not? There are a couple of exclusive figs, I'm hoping I will be able to sell this set for a profit in the future.

Most likely this set won't retire q4 in USA, probably q1 2021, as there sets always retire afterwards, so they always have a heads up after retirements are announced in eu / UK.

Because I'm not big time compared to the large retail chains who buy from the same people I buy off of. Since they're too busy with other priorities 90% off the time I'm shut out from buying bulk in Q4 and have to wait till the dust clears in Jan & Feb to see what's still available. If I can't get Las Vegas there will be opportunities with other sets. 🤷♂️ Edited July 20, 2020 by LegoSteve
Sozial
FOMO is a thing. Paying retail is not a good advice. Just skip las vegas and get a similar good set which you can get for less than retail.
