What Lego set did you buy today?

Recommended Posts

Hi,  (in UK) Ordered 75140 (resistance transporter) & 75150 (Vaders tie vs A-wing) from Lego store at 50% off. Also picked up 75099 (Rey's speeder) down from £20 to £12 from a supermarket. Just recently getting back into Lego, does the Lego store always offer 50% off on every retiring set?

Thanks.

2x SI=36.80 each
1x FOT=32.67
1x RTT=25.66
2x Avenjet=28.86 each
9x infernox=8.78 each

Almost not worth the headache. I grabbed the Avenjets because I have more faith in Marvel sets over SW lately.

Bought the nexo set because@Phil mentioned it was a TRU exclusive and was already at 40% off (before magic)

Where are people getting the extra 20% clearance coupon for these?

I put this in the TRUTH, but Customer Service.  It was reported earlier they had them, and I checked yesterday.  They were taking the coupons off the flyers and putting the flyers out.  Just ask Customer Service and see if they will give you one.

Tried that **** here and no sauce. Was told it's a mail in only. They don't pass out flyers here. And no extra coupons lying around.

Oh dear, don't listen to me :) Seriously, there could be some potential in those as they are 1st wave and exclusive. A bundle with King's Mech might be something to consider.

How did you get them down to $8.78? They were $14.98 on clearance, minus 20% coupon ($11.98) minus 20% GCs gives $9.58 .... how did you get them another 10% lower? Some sort of TRUTU?

Nexo Knight Pro Tip Infernox is meant to be bundled with this set it says so on the back of the box but they have the wrong set number for some reason:

That's the correct set. It's not as impressive as it sounds, you basically replace one Monster with another ..... I think a King & Queen bundle might be more appealing to a collector, especially with both being exclusive and relatively hard to find.

I usually don't mention them to avoid confusion.  I used $50 in rewards on my purchase yesterday as well, if we're bragging

Correct, rewards like cash or ither type of payment not a discount...if somebody give you gift card for 100 and you spend it for purchase its doent means its cost you nothing...yes, thats sounds cool you got 100 set for 20 but its not cool actually if you spend money here instead of somewhere/something else...sorry for long post.

Not sure I agree there. This has been discussed multiple times multiple places (reward point accounting), but the way I treat rewards such as TRU or Lego VIP points is a coupon that can only be used at that retailer. If a set is $100 and I have a $15 reward voucher, my purchase price is $85 plus tax. You can't account for the rewards points when you purchase something at a retailer; they come of the purchase price of whatever you actually use it on. Think of it like a coupon; it's not cash you can spend freely anywhere. A $15 reward should be counted the same as an X% off coupon.

Accounting wise, if I spend $80 in points on a $100 set, it cost me $20 plus tax on my spreadsheet. Rewards points aren't liquid; they have to be spent on product. They also shouldn't accrue for your accounting purposes until you've spent them. What if you get rewards points and then stop buying lego forever? Then the discount you booked on the inventory you already have never actually got...discounted.

In general it helps others seeing deals on the forum if the price of the sets are calculated without points/personal rewards. This helps others trying to replicate the deal to know how much it should cost them. Using points/rewards is personal to each individual and not replicatable for others.

Now how each person accounts for the actual cost of the set is different and you are free to apply points/rewards as you see fit.

for me if someone said "the set costs $50 then 20% off coupon then %20 off gift cards so the total was $32. then i used $12 in rewards so got it for $20." That would be clear.
