I bought a bunch of exclusives in October during double VIP with the free holiday promo (one set per day), so I am focusing on a few other targets on my list. While not an "exclusive", a $100 retail set at 40% off should provide a decent return down the road. Of all the lego movie sets, Benny's and the Sea Cow seem to be the top choices to perform well. I've actually been stockpiling a lot of movie sets lately, both big and small, so I can sell them in bundles when the next movie is released. Shopko has been running some killer deals on this theme lately.

I knew you had a plan ;) the veterans here know you know what you are doing!

I bought 8 Benny's Spaceships from Toys R Us today.

A little bird told me that this set is on the way out sooner than later yes ahead of schedule with their new policy.

Not sure if the timing is this soon but I would not want to be caught without some.

I picked up a couple from Meijer this week so I hope you are right!

Did you just hop off of a time machine?

Not sure about your Targets, but last week we had quite a few AT-TEs, Republic Gunships, Stealth Starfighters, Mobile Heavy Cannons, and Jabba's Sail Barge left in stock around my area. Today, nothing outside that AT-TE.

I did pick up a couple of the new Microfighters series 2 today as a Ship-to-Store from Walmart.

New policy?

Let me clarify saying I am not sure if my source is right or not.

But the new policy that Ed Mack alluded to for Lego, someone else separately confirmed to me today without me even referencing Brickpicker.

It is lifecycle on Lego product is no longer on a two year or however long consistent policy.  (I know there are exceptions to the 2 years etc).

This has been discussed much in other threads.

The new policy - if it sells keep it going, if it does not sell get rid of it early.

Town Hall followed that.

In my opinion, the most significant factor is that the movie sets have seldom if ever been discounted, except for the spaceship in the last 3 weeks and EVERY retailer has discounted that set but not the others.  I noted in the summer and fall that the spaceship was everywhere and other movie sets were out of stock or had lower amounts of stock.

Either retailers need the space for 2015 releases or SSS doesn't sell well, please draw your own conclusions.

Ed alluded to a policy that if it sells it stays and if it doesn't it goes? Guess I missed that post.

I am not trying to put words in his mouth.  That is my interpretation of what his comments were in the if I remember correctly 100 page Town Hall thread explosion we had.  Standard retirement cycles cannot be counted on.  If I am off base I apologize but that is what another person told me today and what I interpreted Ed as implying.

All I know is a bunch of old people and Packer's fans shop there the first Wednesday of every month.  I think it's in another dimension.

Not many Packers fans in my neck of the woods, we've got this thing called the sun, it scares them all away. Other than online, I've got Target, Wal Mart, one each for TRU and KMart (both 45 minutes away) and a trio of B&Ns. The TRU and KMart are both living on borrowed time.

That makes absolute sense to me. In this way the battle against QFLL's and short-term resellers of current (in production) sets will be won. Cause they produce more of the popular sets and less of the non-popular sets. So people will find them easy in stores and online. For the long-term, there are chances. I think this game will change to us buying non-popular sets. Cause production will cease faster and it will be more scarce.

Just my theory answer on this.
