I bought my share when they were 70$. Its definitely susceptible to a remake or completely flopping from a terrible Mandalorian season.

the biggest risk as a reseller is that amazon may have a hangar or two full of these

that's the risk for any popular sets nowadays.  Popularity, Price point, recurring movie/tv series...checks all the boxes for whales

(also Costco had pallets of these across the country just a few months ago)

I'm not yet convinced that what we've seen from Amazon over the last year or so is going to be as big of a concern going forward.  I can't recall so many retired sets hanging around Amazon for so long prior to COVID and somewhat think that the phenomenon may have more to do with the screwed up supply chain issues of 2020/2021 than a new business as usual for them.  From a cost perspective, I can't imagine Amazon is keen on warehousing so much inventory for so long.

A lot of those on the list are obvious and have been well known for a while.....But a few such as Ecto-1, Santa's Visit, and Medieval Blacksmith i'm not so sure about.....Plus Friends Apartments should stick around with Central Perk finally going away

Above are his "additions" to what is already known. The most unbelievable to me are the Friends sets, blacksmith, and mustang. Personally,  I'm pretty  sure not all of these are going, and once the source is wrong, I dont see reason to believe any of it.

I find his videos and "insider info" to be highly dubious.  He is wrong more than he is correct.  I ignore him.  No way that Blacksmith is retiring and seriously doubt tSanta's Visit will.

I have a feeling this might be a 2023 list. Blacksmith would be due by then, same for Santa's Visit and the Ford SC. I'm almost certain the Astronomy Tower will be going next year: it's a year behind the Clock Tower.

I'd be surprised if the Chamber of Secrets went next year, but that's the only one on that list for which 2023 doesn't make sense.

I don't know where he's getting his information, but he's an absolute fool.

Par for the course.  He's the guy that started the 5x VIP points rumor last month for LEGO Shop at Home.

An awful list. Now there is sometimes I surprise retirement at the end, but it’s been since pre Covid that this happened to my knowledge.

Found this on Entertainment Earth.

Are their "restocking" dates actually reliable. Seems a bit unlikely that they would get them in still. especially when this one is an amazon exclusive.

Very unlikely

The story was that no set with price increase is going. I don't think there is a single data point going against that. If there is a surprise, I would have bet on Pooh. It didn't go up in price and was on some early 2022 lists. At this point, I'm pretty sure it will stay.

However, I've heard that in Germany retailers can't order Ninjago City Gardens anymore. That set was also on early lists, then was removed and got a price increase. If it were to go, that would be a shock.

this set went sold out in US at end of last month and retired in other countries.

not on any list i've seen.  picked up a few the last couple days from walmart.com where they had them for $18ish.

So there is a chance that there will be no modular retirement this year?

That's the story. Next January, there will be 5 modulars on the market: AS, Bookstore, Police Station, Hotel, and Jazz Club. Seems like two too many.

Lego clearly can handle more sets in rotation at one point, at least online. My store is small, so older sets are often not on the shelves.

I have a few dozen I stashed from a Walmart during last year's clearance. Blown out at $5 each.
